I am having worries about me having faith in Jesus Christ and God.

Can you give me some questions that will help me figure out if I have faith in Jesus and God?

Can you tell me what it means to have faith in Jesus Christ?

What does it mean to have faith that Jesus Christ is my lord and savior and that he died on the cross for my past present and future sins?

What does it feel like if you have full faith with no doubt in Jesus Christ?

I was in a crisis of faith a few years ago and requested prayer and the Lord definitely helped me. So I'll pray for you as well.

I don't have good answers for all your questions but I will say faith is an action word. It's one thing to believe intellectually, but to truly have faith you must act on your belief. It's like believing in a chair. You know intellectually it's there, and that it will support you if you sit down. But you have to have faith to go ahead and sit down.

Pray, study God's word to understand what His will is for you and then act on what you learn. It may take baby steps at first, but go ahead and step out on faith.

I will pray for you.

A good question to ask is, “Am I walking just as Jesus walked?”

1 John 2:6: “Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.”

Put another way, “Am I always doing the things that are pleasing to the Father?”

John 8:29: “And He who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.”

Paul states it succinctly as “the obedience of faith” in Romans 1:5 and 16:26.

Hello ChristianWarriorGW, I think that the best place to begin to figure this out (whether you are a true believer or not, that is) is to look back to the beginning (IOW, to the day that you became, or believed that you became, a believer), but I have a question to ask you about this first.

Were you saved as an adult (and therefore know things, like the day that you were saved on and what that day was like for you, for instance), or were you saved as a child, sometime along the way while you were growing up in church (and you are not sure of the exact day of your salvation)

*The other thing that must ~always~ be considered and remembered in a conversation like this one is that we have a common enemy, one who hates God AND us (because we are now His children). And because he hates us, he (and his demons) do their very best to get us to doubt God & His word (including His great promises to us), to doubt that we are in any sense worthy of being a Christian and/or, to doubt that we are, or ever were, true believers (we'll talk more about this later).

Thanks :)

God bless you!!

~Deut
p.s. - to get started, even before you answer the above question, here is a list of things that should be increasingly present in the life of a (true) believer .. please take note that I said "increasingly" present, as this list continues to be of value as a way of helping us know where we are in our daily walk before Him AS true believers.

In fact, I'll include the whole list, the fruit of the flesh AND the fruit of the Spirit. Without being too critical of yourself, would you say that your life, in general, is more reflective of v19-21, or v22-23 (or is it both)

Galatians 5
19 The deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
21 envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

I will give you an example of faith.

I had been living in Florida since 1979 in the Tampa Bay area which is Clearwater, Tampa and St. Petersburg FL they are all next to each other and the area has a population of about 3.5 million people. That's a lot of traffic and a lot of people in a not so large area. A few years ago I had prayed and asked God to let me know when I should leave that area as for Christians it's really better to live in a more country setting than in the heart of a city. I lived in that area for 42 years and I would say about 4-5 years ago I started feeling as though I should move to a more rural area.

I didn't go when I first felt like I should but I did start talking to people about moving and then figuring out where I wanted to go. I really wanted to move to Gatlinburg TN out in the wooded part away from the city part and started looking online at houses in the area. They were pricey so I started looking in a 200 mile area around Knoxville TN where housing was a little better priced. Since Tourist and I wanted to retire there I wanted a house move in ready under $100,000.

This is where really listening to God will pay off for you. Had I listened and gone when I first felt I should the housing was lower than when we finally moved. I got a realtor and listed our place probably 2 years after I first felt I should get out of Florida that feeling kept getting stronger that we should go so I started praying that God would help me find the house we needed to be in. I found a few that I liked that were not in Gatlinburg but about an hour away and it seemed that every time I was ready to tell the TN Realtor that I wanted to put an offer on one someone came along and snatched it away.

In the meantime we are getting our place ready to sell and packing up and had to redo the shower as water started coming down from the second floor into the kitchen below so we had to open a hole in the ceiling to find the leak and then repair it which is taking time. We at least were able to put in a homeowners claim on the insurance to fix the repair minus the deductible portion we had to pay.

Because of this we were loosing out on some of the houses I would have not minded moving into. I kept praying and this was taking time and I start to question God...are you sure you want us to move? A buyer came along around the time we were doing the repair of the shower and they wanted to buy the house so Yes was God's answer on the move. We still had no house to move into on the Tennessee end so this meant we were going to be homeless for a period of time.

I kept praying and looking at houses online and found one in Jamestown TN that had been remodeled with newer roof but only had one bathroom we had wanted two. It did have a carport so I wasn't worried about the second bath as there was a place to put one later should we want it. They were asking $98,000.00 I asked my realtor to offer $95,000.00 and she was like I don't know most houses are selling over asking price. At any rate I was praying about it and told her all they can do is say no. She called me so excited later and said They accepted your offer.

That was about a few days before we closed on the sale of our Florida home so we knew we would be a month without a home. We closed in November on the sale of our home and we didn't close until December 22 in Tennessee so we were about 5-6 weeks without a home. Stayed with family for a week, spent a week of vacation in a cabin and the rest of the time 3-4 weeks in a motel.

My point is even though we ended up a little over 2 hours away from Gatlinburg this journey of prayer and trusting in God to sell our home, move from Florida to Tennessee with animals and having to store our furniture for a month, homeless and all the stresses that can go with it we had an exercise in faith and trust in God.

He answered my prayers with a very nice home, it was the right home at the right place, not too far from where I wanted to be but in reality could not afford. The town we now live in has a population a little over 2000 people a big difference from the city life we were in before. If I had listened to God earlier we probably could have gotten a home a little closer to Gatlinburg. But I am very happy where we are and believe without a doubt that this is the home God wanted us to be in. Believe me this whole process took a lot of faith and trust as we did not have a place or destination when we started but in the end we knew where we were going and it is a nice comfortable little home with nice neighbors. This December will be our second year here the move was in 2020 of November and in the house December 2020. In the middle of Covid pandemic too and God kept us safe from all the hotel rooms and eating out during that time a miracle in and of itself. Still praising God for how it all turned our.

I don't know about questions. I do know everyones walk is different. People's faith level's are different also. But I do know everyone has doubted somethings before. With my walk I have learned to put more faith in God and less doubt in moving forward. I do know the devil will tell us many lies and instill doubt. Pray for guidance and don't be discouraged if you fall, God will pick you up. I gained 50 lb.s , had covid twice, pneumonia,, got hurt on exercise equipment and dealt with other health issues. He has brought me back and moved me forward.

Are you baptized?

The fact is; you wouldnt be here asking of ya didnt have saving faith. I think of John sending one of his disciples to Jesus for reassurance. I think of the man who asked Jesus to heal his (daughter I think) and Jesus said if you believe and the man replied , "help my unbelief" . Jesus did the miracle.
