When I re-read the title I realized that the wording may have been a bit off . But excuse my English, as it is not my first language.
No worries, I speak French as a second language and have had similar experience....one time my neck was sore and someone asked me how I was feeling....I thought I was saying 'I have a sore neck' but because I pronounced the word cou (neck) as ceu (hard to type how it sounds) instead I announced that my rear end was sore.

Thankfully my life is not in danger, but it is highly likely that I will be judged and pushed away from my family and friends. Thank you for the advice. I will make sure to talk to them individually and begin with the most understanding people. I feel very welcomed and am glad to be a part of this community, as I have not received anything other than great advise and support on CC. God bless you
You never know, you may be the spark that ignites a revival in those parts. God willing this should happen. You landed square on the best possible oxthodox "denomination" BTW. You can't do much better than Evangelical Protestant! And please post your experiences in your walk of pilgrimage we are here to support you.

not an ex-muslim but I remember when I first converted I was too scared to even go to church and tell my family and yes there was a HUGE spiritual battle to keep me in bondage but my best advice to you is to find fellowship and keep reading the Bible and get grounded in your faith.
God will help you if you ask. Dont be afraid to ask and also, christian forums like this are a God send.

BTW I think there is room for a new believers forum on this site I have asked but they are reluctant to make one but it is helpful to have some guidance and support when you starting out on your faith journey. Welcome to Gods family.

Friendly_Turk,

I will pray that the Lord will bless you and use you to win many of your relatives and friends to Christ. My first advice would be to get baptized if you have not already.

I would also encourage you to read the words of Christ, that if you confess Him before men, He will confess you before the Father.

Matthew 10

32 “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. 33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.
34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
(NKJV)

You have to be willing to lose your family for Christ's sake, if necessary. Paul also said to one man, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved and all your house."

Many believers have lost relationships with family over their faith in Christ. But it is possible that God may win your family to Christ through you. An acquaintance of mine who planted churches in the middle east says he uses the 'CAMEL' method, an acronymn which you can look up online.

There are a number of verses in the Al Qur'an that speak well of Jesus. It calls Jesus the Word of God, and the Al-Qur'an treats the Taurat, Injil, and Mazmur, the Torah, Gospel, and Psalms as genuine scripture. Historically, in the 600s, the church was using the same Bible we use today. So you may show them that the Al-Qur'an teaches that the Bible is genuine and that Jesus is the Word of God, and born of a Virgin.

Is there ever a time in eternity past that God was unable to speak or think? What does it mean that Jesus is the Word of God? If the Gospel and the Torah of the Jews and Christians are genuine, then what do they say about Jesus? You could share this with them and tell them that someone gave you a Bible, and then tell them the things you discovered.

Be willing to lose all for Christ, but seek to win your family for Christ. Give us some updates so we can pray for you specifically.

Btw, in the United States 'come out to my family' almost always means for someone to tell his/or her family that they are gay. So some people were confused when they read the title. But this is a good thread you have posted.

I am Turkish, live in Turkey and am an ex-Muslim. I converted 2 months ago, but have not been able to tell my family and friends, due to the stigma around leaving Islam and Christianity in general. Any advice would be much appreciated.
What caused your conversion and how was it brought about?

I will pray for you and the many others in your situation, who are finding salvation through Christ. I cannot give you advice since I have never been in your situation. I do suggest you read about and follow the teaching and advice from Nabeel Quershi, available at his website and on You Tube.
