What exactly is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit if I may ask?
Thank you
Good day, Clear River,

Regarding the title of your post, in order to commit the unforgiveable sin, you would have to proclaim, just as the Jewish leaders did, that Jesus was casting out demons through the prince of demons. Since Jesus was casting out demons through the Spirit of God, they were calling the Holy Spirit unclean and that was the unforgivable sin. Therefore, you would have to be making the same claim as the Jewish leaders in order to commit the same unforgiveable sin.

To be clear, you can't commit the unforgiveable sin by accident.

Context, context, context!
Never mind. I looked up blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. Greek: Blasphemeo. Vilification, evil speaking, railing.
sorry I was just being lazy.
Sending Gods Blessings Always

I wish I didn't exist, I wish I more knowledgeable of who and what I believe in, I want salvation but I had taken that away from that from me due to combo of fear, spite, impulses and being histrionic, thinking like those who do not truly believe or understand god and and the what ifs. I want to be saved and I really do but I had surf on the internet looking for answer but I am pretty sure I am a lost cause. Heck I was planning on going to heaven for a the very wrong reason like for family not god.
. . .
Please know this, Clear River. God died for the ungodly.

Romans 5:6-9

6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

Hello Anthony55,

Many people get freaked out because they are afraid that they have committed blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. In order for someone to do that, you or anyone would have to claim that Jesus was casting out demons through the power of Satan. And since Jesus was casting out demons through the power of the Spirit of God, then they were calling the Holy Spirit unclean. Below is the scripture:

==============================================================

And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons He drives out demons.”

23So Jesus called them together and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24If a kingdom is divided against itself, it cannot stand. 25If a house is divided against itself, it cannot stand. 26And if Satan is divided and rises against himself, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27Indeed, no one can enter a strong man’s house to steal his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house.

28Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter. 29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin.”

30Jesus made this statement because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.”

=============================================================================

Therefore, in order to commit the unforgiveable sin, one would have to claim that Jesus was casting out demons by the prince of demons and thereby blaspheming the Spirit, calling Him unclean. It's not something that can be done by accident, but by directly making the same claim.

Thank you for such a clear cut explanation. I've read those scriptures so many times and I never put it that perspective.
Again thank you very much.

Great line!
I find that those around me avoid the topic
Well, been made fun of all my life, I don't think I'm ugly but others do. So instead of crying when someone says something ugly to me I just say something bad about myself so they have no where to go lol

Listen to me,

Your thought process is not lining up with the Word of God. Anyone who comes to Jesus HE does not turn away.

he is the one you come to and ask Him to forgive you. If you truly seek the Lord you will find HIM.

Pray with me,

Dear Lord Jesus, I am having trouble Believing and I do not know what is truth. Help my unbelief, and come into my heart, forgive me my sins, and help to accept by faith what your word says of you Lord Jesus dying on the Cross, and Rasing from the dead. I am going to trust you, that you do not lie and accept what I have seen in your word and need you to please help me to know you more.

In your name, I pray amen.

Hi, Matthew. Life is an experience in itself. It doesn't come with instructions but you learn that along the way. You can only depend in Christ to bring you through your rough spots, Lord knows I've had my share & sometimes it seems everybody else's lol. When you no longer pay attention to what people are telling you, but what God is telling you in His word, then you will see the light. Keep the faith my friend.

That's not the unforgivable sin. It's only a mistake. You seem young enough to get over lot's of mistakes. It's OK, sometimes our mistakes makes the Lord's Grace even stronger. 2 Corinth 12 NKJV 8

Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

I call Matthew chapters 5-7 Christian 101. Most simply call it the sermon on the mount. It includes the beatitudes and how to pray. Its a great starting point.
