Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:25-26

I am so sorry for your loss. I know it seems unfair. Some people that I knew who I was very close to also had their lives end at a very young age. Even my cousin who lived for just one month, never made it out of the hospital. I can't explain it. I wish i could but we have to trust that God's understanding surpasses our own. There is no better place Joshua rather be right now than in the place that God has prepared for him and in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who loves him infinitely. My prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Psalm 55:22 - "Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."
thank you for that. I'm sorry you lost your infant cousin. I'm glad you were able to find comfort.

I'm sorry for you loss. It is times like this, we have the choice to become angry at God, or draw closer to him. Certainly, this is a terrible tragedy for you and his family. Don't be afraid to grieve.

But the Bible never promises us a perfect life on this earth. Instead, he promises he will walk with us, through the fires and the floods, and he will use suffering to shape our character.

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;" Isa. 43:1b-3

"More than that, we rejoice in our suffering knowing that suffering produces endurance, endurance produces characters and character produces hope. And hope does not disappoint, because God's love has been poured out by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5

May God comfort you, as you seek him in this trial.

Trying to guess why something like losing your Joshua happened is just that – a guessing game. My parents died when I was sixteen and I still don’t know why, but I do know that God was with me through the pain. A verse that meant a lot to me is I John 3:1, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are![SUP]” [/SUP]God promised to be my daddy since mine was no longer on earth. Remember, too, that the church is the Bride of Christ? A verse for you might be Hosea 2:19-20, “And I will take you for my wife forever; I will take you for my wife in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love, and in mercy. [SUP]20 [/SUP]I will take you for my wife in faithfulness; and you shall know the Lord.” Just as you and Joshua were devoted to each other, now as you grieve him as a future husband, become devoted to God, your true husband. Get to know Him and let Him love you fully. I pray that in your deep pain, you let God comfort you. I know He can because He comforted me.

God has a path for us. Bad things happen so worse doesn't. Read the scripture people have left for you. Find strength in it
