Just an update: My dear cat is dying. She probably won't last the night, but if she survives the weekend, we will put her down on Monday. Poor thing. She really declined quickly over the past week. Hard to believe we're going to lose her after 18 years.

santuzza, aw I'm sorry.. just know that it's for the best, because she was, and is suffering. Animals know when it's their time, but they rely on us to be smart enough to know it too. Very soon she won't be in discomfort anymore..she will be playing with my Rusty up in heaven. :) Tequila is almost 15, and now she's getting sick. :( Soon I may very well be faced with the same dilemma that you're in right now.. *hugs*

She went very quickly -- once we saw she was truly down for the count, the vet's office was closed for the weekend so we couldn't put her down. Blissfully, she passed very quickly and we were right with her. It was very peaceful.

We had a day of mourning yesterday as we buried her in the morning. We celebrated her life by having a tuna dinner! It was a sad but good day. And I have to say, I'm glad we did that because both my hubby and I are feeling much better today.

Miss her though...
