Im not sure which section to put this but because this is related to family members I put it here.

I have noticed that lately for some reason, unknown to me, There have been certain types of nightmares that are coming back.
Before I got married i remember having some times a nightmares with two different topics, either by getting bitten by animals (usually dogs) and the other nightmare of having ghosts or more precise demons present in my home. Now these latter ones have started to come back to me.

Previously i remember being bit uncomfortable in dark because i felt like being watched and not wanted to see who is watching me (from mirror or dark opened door etc.) but after my wife and child moved together with me that have gone and pretty much all ghost etc dreams too.
I still don't have that uncomfortable feeling in the dark but noticed that I'm having the dreams that there is someone uninvited in the house rummaging our stuff in the neighbor room (kitchen) making all kinds of noise but when go there I see nobody just moving cabinet doors and stuff. Also same time when I discover this in the dream i feel like i get paralyzed and lose ability move and to talk clearly. (resulting me to wake up quite soon)

Any thoughts about this or why this have all of the sudden started to come back?

I've had it too, except for the house rummaging and noises. I would try more prayer, more reading the bible each day, and possibly try to live a holier life. I fortunately have always been able to pray, even in my dreams, so even if my body or eyes were paralysed, my heart could always pray to God and He never hesitated in responding.

I remember one time, I got tricked in a dream and instead of praying, wanted to talk to this nice girl that had transformed into some old lady looking type of hunched-over creature. However, when I got closer, it became a large dragon head, and when I saw it, I started praying, but then everything went white and I was paralysed, but then I felt as if I were being transported back to my bed from wherever it was I had been.

I also noticed the phenomena (feelings of dark shapes or being watched or breathing difficulties due to something on my chest or floating up to my ceiling) only ever occurred when I was alone (my dog didn't seem to help very much).

it's possible that it could be sleep paralysis and any unresolved issues your subconscious mind is struggling with
