Hey guys, I could use all the answers anyone is willing to provide me. Recently god spoke to me about being with my ex again, which goes against my whole family. Now I'm faced with a choice of either him or my family and I don't know what to do.

Why does it go against your family?

God didn't speak to you. You spoke to you. No way is God going to divide a family over an old flame.

My family doesn't like him, they have had fights towards the end of our relationship because they thought he was a liar and they don't think he can provide for me. He has caused a lot of chaos in my family but he's grown a lot closer to god and has apologized to my family but they still don't think he's good for me

Is this an ex BF? Who is leading who in this relationship? Growing a lot closer to God is a very weak description of you ex's relationship with Jesus.

I suspect the both of you need to mature in the Lord a lot more before you consider any relationship that could lead to marriage or children.

He makes me very happy, I feel like we're made to fit together but then I start to overthink and feel like I'm
Blinded by love and I feel bad because it's not what my family wants for me

Echoing the replies of others on your other thread, there is a reason he is an ex. Like Depleted said, God would never break up a family over an ex. You're hearing YOUR voice, not God's..

Love doesn't blind god is love he would never blind you remember that if you want to be with your ex that's your choice how ever you obviously broke up for a reason I won't say you should or shouldn't it's your decision wether it be wrong or right.

I don't know what this "ex" means. If this man is your husband, than yes you should try to reconcile. If this is some boyfriend, well they ain't nothing but acquaintances at best.

I want you to do some homework for your sake and this "ex" you are talking about. If you look up these two scriptures, you'll know what I mean.

Proverbs 28:26

1 Corinthians 7:10

I think the Proverbs 28:26 deserves a lot of prayer and consideration. It's the one I come back to whenever I start to lean on my own understanding.

What are your interpretations of these verses?
