Dude, she's 7. She needs to be introduced to him more gradually than that.
Amen! Forcing a child beyond their ability to comprehend can be a detriment. That's why I've never been particularly comfortable with anyone else teaching my children.

I'll guide them the best way I can. It's fine if others have something to contribute, but I don't hesitate to tell my child if I disagree with someone else's belief.

I pray that God's Spirit will guide my children as they develop a personal relationship with God through Christ. Just as God doesn't give us more than we can bear, we should take the same approach to those who look to us for answers and direction.

These are just a few options that are geared for kids of all ages. American Family Radio (AFR) offers all the audio options Some are on every weekday some are on Saturday morning. If you do not live in an area that has an AFR channel or the child doesn't have an AFR channel in their area AFR can be heard on the internet on afr.net

Hi, Is it at all possible to get her parents involved. That would be ideal, however I understand if they don't want to hear it. Sometimes when we try to teach God's word to a child in your family the parents begin to rebell against it and it ruins it for the child. I seen this happen in my very good friend's niece. God's word never goes void so you can depend on that. I agree with books, age approprate movies and pray , pray, pray. We have an enemy out there who does not want this child to know the Lord. ANd yes continue to be an example. it is encouraging to me to hear how concerned you are for your niece. Be encouraged, stay focused and the Lord will help you teach her. I will pray for her parents to receive the Lord and become a part of his family. I will pray for you , for His strength and for your niece , that nothing will distract her from God's word. kThat He will give her the desire to learn and grow so she can be a witness to her parents. Are you willing to let me know her name.
Thank you for your encouragement and prayers. My niece's name is Lydia and she is in the first grade. I agree the best way would be to have her parents involved in sharing God with her, but unfortunately she comes from a very complicated home.

When children visit me whom have no or less knowledge of God I like to put on a christian cd with songs for children, and I do sometimes creative things that has as theme faith. Like making a heart of paper and decorating it and explaining that God likes to live our hearts. Or a dove and I explain it is a picture of the Holy Spirit. I lay down biblical coloring-pages they can pick. When they love music I teach them a simple song. I can use a dvd with a biblical story if its rainy. I pick a bible with a lot of picture to read to them. I pray a simple prayer with words kids can understand. My experience is that it is often the interaction between me and the child that makes children think about it. I try to use the name of God a lot, like when looking for insects outside I say "oh how God did make this wonderful". I ask them questions. Where do you think God is? When they say no idea I explain it. When they visit me quickly after it I do talk about different things or just let them color and after a while I ask them again. (Not in a pushy way, just while we are doing things) There are lots of websites with creative christian things, like making mobiles, coloring, baking, all kind of stuff.
I love these ideas. You seem just like a Sunday school teacher. She is very hands on (like just about every kid I've ever met) and loves music so Christian themed crafts and sing-along songs are perfect for her. I like that you are able to turn everyday experiences into a discussion/lesson on God. I'll have to work on that. Thank you!

I agree with tdrew777. Pray in front of her, out loud, say Grace at meals, be the example of Christianity in front of her by how you act around others, how you treat others, how you talk about others especially non believers. I pray for strangers, the clerk at the grocery store, etc. I also give encouragement whenever I can - as easily as complimenting a stranger, smiling, let someone go in front of you in line, all these things will stick with her, especially if her own family doesn't do it she'll see your home as happier and you can explain you do it because of God's love. I take it her parents aren't believers and if they are not happy when you expose her to this and you, on the other hand, are kind and loving towards them that will stay with her. Answer her questions honestly.

Don't miss the opportunity and her open heart and lead her in the sinners prayer! It's wonderful to be born again as a child!
