We have to be careful not to blaspheme the Holy Spirit. We are born again and we have the Holy Spirit in us, John 14. We do not have Satan in us; that is false doctrine. You have the Spirit in you 100%. What accord does light have with darkness and what accord does God have with Beelzebub? None! We cannot serve two masters. We will love the one and hate the other. Jesus said the Devil could not enter into you because he must first bind the strong man. The Holy Spirit is the strong man guardinp our souls. The Devil cannot bind the Holy Spirit, so he cannot enter into you.

"Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand." (Matthew 12:25)

If you are filled with the Holy Spirit and the salvation that comes through Christ, there is no room for satan inside you. All other stuff is external.

Luke 8:2And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

Mark 16:17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Mark 7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

your friend is what we call an Aggressive Christian!
Aggressive Christians can turn people away from God because they twist the bible and take words out of context.

I dislike comments like this: "you have the devil inside you" or "you are going to hell".
All that are aggressive and used to scare people so they repent. That is not how you do it.
I mean if you want someone to believe in Jesus, would you tell them "if you don't believe in God, you are going to hell!". Rather than say "Jesus can do good things for you, your life will be happier etc"

Bobo congratulations for believing in Jesus. The answers are in the bible, go to church and listen to sermon preachings, pray to God whom is also Jesus for thankfulness, forgiveness of your sins (and answers if you want). Remember to read the bible as the answers are there.

Just like many said, the devil isn't inside us unless we don't believe in Jesus. That is false teaching your friend gave you.

In fact the rapture/day of the lord/last hour is approaching. Many people have received visions and messages from Jesus, him saying "many of his followers are NOT ready for his coming". Meaning even majority of Christians will not be taken by Jesus during the hour. Because they do not follow is law and do not live a righteous holy life.

So yes the test results might be accurate, many Christians only worship Jesus with their lips but do not do his will. Many believe that once they are Christians or believe in Jesus that they are automatically saved and WILL go to heaven, yet they go back to their sinful ways.

"When Christianity came to be interpreted by the straightforward, dull, unspiritual legal mind of Rome, the Gospel went into a fearful eclipse. When the Greek thought of Christ gave way to the Latin, a night came upon the Christian world that has extended to the present day. Then were born all those half-views, distorted views, and false views of Christian doctrine and Christian life that have perverted the Gospel, puzzled the human intellect and grieved the human heart through all the long centuries from that day to this"
-Rev. S. Crane, The Universalist Quarterly, January 1878

unfortunately, the church is very much a victim of our own human misunderstandings, as surely as all other religions are. There are many churches that teach things that are directly in conflict with what the bible tells us, and many other churches that teach misinterpretations of that which was taught.

Martin Luther noticed this, way back in the 16th century and decided that, as for himself, he would only trust that which had been written down in the bible, or could be proven without a doubt by logical reasoning... and so far, that is the absolute best approach I have come across when determining what is true.

I know what I say here will be difficult to word and will go contrary to many beliefs. However I feel obligated to post this. There are indeed most christians who welcome God into their heart and then still have the desire to serve the flesh. Be it an hour later a day or three days. These thoughts which indeed could be called a devil for they are not after spiritual things, but fleshy things. One may indeed say that 80 percent of my heart relinquishes to God but at times my heart desires that which it should not. We are then given a choice, give in. or strengthen our bond with our Lord within us through a grasping of faith. Only through a Holy revelation could we truly see and reckon it so that the death of all that is not of God has actually taken place within us. Or maybe its just in choosing God over and over that our relationship builds. Paul said he does not feel that he has attained but forgetting the past he looks to what is ahead of him. In closing, there are MANY christians who still cannot harness their tongue or give charity with a loving heart. Neither of which are of God. So what else would you call it?

Through love, God bless all of you my brothers and sisters

"I have been crucified with Christ ;
and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;
and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself up for me".
Galatians 2:20

the devil cannot live in you!
he can talk to you
he can scare you
he can pretend to want to help you to lure you
But he can not live in you unless you invite him in

Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.
“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them,
because the one who is in you (GOD) is greater than the one who is in the world (Satan).” -
1 John. 4:4.

Its a war of principals. That which is good and righteous is of God that which is not is of sin. The bible speaks of the devil and devils. One I believe is a spiritual being the plural use refers to a sinful nature and spiritual conflict against that which is of God. Remember what Paul said "oh wretched man I am, for I do that which I would not and do not that which I would"

We are not percentages at all, most thoughts come from dark spirits, but not all. We ARE influenced by the forces of darkness, but that doesn't mean we become the devil. Even though in the form of wicked thoughts the devil tricks us, we still do not have our identity in the devil.
God holds our total identity, which we fail to embody.

because evil cannot stand the presence of God.
The devil can posess someone yes, but not a person who has the holy spirit in them.
It would be like attempting to light a candle under water

I do not believe the phrase 20 percent devil is signifying an occupation of satan but if alcoholism, greed, unruly mouth, lust, and frowardness could be considered demons as in we have all faced our demons then the phrase holds water

Very well stated, my friend. I would be inclined to peruse the possibility that the propensity for "non-goodness" is ingrained within. While some might more apt to succumb to these evil overtures than others, in all cases these so-called "forces of darkness" can be surmounted by recognizing - as you have stated so well - that God holds our total identity.

Again, a most excellent post. Lucid and succinct.

Thank you.

There is a warring within us.. The spirit and the flesh. The phrase though possibly poorly worded I believe accurately depicts this internal battle as we continue to be purged in the forge of Christ.

We are closer to waht Satan is than what God is this is a well known fact. The whol epoint of our tests of faith is to show that we choose the Godly side as opposed to the satanic one.
