the thing is I HAVE paid attention to your comments and disagree
no you haven't puppers.... no you haven't.
again, your comment about everyone hating God is your opinion
No, it is not my opinion, this is bible. (granted, a simplification, but true nonetheless.)
I am saved by the blood of Christ, I know God my Father loves me and sent His only Son to die on my behalf
yes? we are
only saved by the Blood of Christ, what is your point? and why is your point at odds with me quoting bible?
how is this in any way a rebuttal of my statement and the verses quoted? why are we saved by the blood of Christ? why did we need Gods only Son?
how long have you been a Christian?
doesn't actually matter, but it's in my bio. I have been a Christian since I was 4 and I am now 31.
John would say to you that we love Him because He first loved us
huh.... I wonder why He needed to do that?
John wrote parts of the Bible. you certainly have not and the Bible is not at your disposal to misinterpret
you are right, i did not write it and good thing too because it would be a lot messier if I had hahahahah.
but, if scripture is to be believed, then neither did John. God did.
but if i am misinterpreting by quoting scripture then are you the authority by which I must understand scripture? like the pope? or like the prophets of the LDS church? or maybe Pharaoh?
The bible is at my disposal to read, the bible is mine to study, the bible is mine to memorize, and the bible is mine to follow, among a great many other things. also, God expects me to take advantage of the opportunity to know it, because, "to whom much is given, much shall be required."
the thing I think you are having issue with is that the bible is also mine to understand as it is written and to quote. we are supposed to be mindful of the scriptures, supposed to "write them upon the tables of our hearts" as it were, and "get/purchase over all else" and to "fear" and to "
not add to or subtract from".
are you aware that God left us with a Book that explicitly lays out His expectations and ordinations?
are you aware that in His teachings Jesus demanded that we follow after His example of perfect
submission to God?
need i remind you that this is "ChristianChat"? this is supposed to be a site where we can hash out difficult things without great worry of being misunderstood by the Godless and heathen masses. this is a place where we are supposed to be able to speak of the heavy things of scripture and encourage and admonish in the Word by the Spirit of Truth. we must be washed by the blood and constantly be renewed by the renewing of our minds into the likeness of Christ and out/away from our own likeness.
"we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people who should show forth the praises of Him who hath called us out of darkness and into His marvelous Light." if we look like the world, then there is no difference and we
are the world
the thing is I HAVE paid attention to your comments
it does not appear that you have not been paying attention or even trying to understand. the bible tells us to "make our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is our
reasonable service".
Jesus tells us in
John 6 "any who do not eat my flesh and drink my blood, there is no life in them." coming from Jesus....... this means something a lot more than what it would coming from anyone else, you know, Him
being "The Life" and all.
Paul also explains
"
16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that
it is good.
17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but
how to perform that which is good I find not.
19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.".
but wait...... Paul's been made a new creature...... why is he still struggling with this? and where did this "sin", "flesh" and this "evil" come from?
see, you aren't paying attention.
I'm not trying to belittle you (sans the fun nickname
), I'm trying to make the point clear that, in ourselves, we are evil, in ourselves, we hate God.
this is the majesty of the Gift of God, of our Savior, of Jesus. By His Blood we are washed and made clean and freed from Sin. but the finished work of the recreation isn't done yet. it will be. that is Jesus promise to us and He says so in revelation. when He returns He will make us new and all sin and disease, and wickedness and (sad) tears will be purged from us and we will live and reign forever with our King and our God.
so, to reiterate:
naturally, we hate God. we all do. but by His mercy and our obedience to Him. we can choose to love Him, and thankfully, it gets easier every time we do it.
maybe we are having a misunderstanding of our definitions of Love and that is our issue here.
quite possibly a misunderstanding of Love is a chief reason, if not the chief reason, why most marriages don't work.
if there is disagreement between us, please explain......
