I grew up in a very broken family, so I have about as much first hand experience with decent functioning families as any other person who has watched a few episodes of the brady bunch.
But I think the role of the woman is to be loved by her husband and to pass that love to her children, above all else to love the children and to teach them compassion as a way of love and life. Circumstances may vary between the people but so long as that principle is upheld then the most important things will be preserved.
It can be very difficult being a stay at home mum, but those are the most important years for a child to learn sincere and honest love and that's why I don't think I will have children unless I could fully afford (without any problems) for my wife to stay home and look after them for the most important years of their life.
