I was just curious if there were any songs you may have heard that refer to Job or the book of Job? Like a line in a song or whatever...

Probably not the musical style you'd be looking for, but this is a song about Job

Theodicy On Trial

Satan called upon the Lord
"I must perform a test
To prove that fath in God
Is contingent on being blessed"One of the richest men of the second millennium
Job was stripped of all his wealth
Three daughters and seven sons
He tore his robe
And shaved his head
Fell to the ground, worshipped God and said:
I was naked when I came here
I'll be naked when I leave here
The Lord gave it
So He can take it
All away

Satan called upon the Lord
"Give me one more test
Grant that I may strike his flesh
And at you he'll shake his fist"
From head to toe black boils
Were pregnant on his skin
His breath was super roached
Stomach caving in
Detested and forsaken by family and friends
His wife said, "Curse your God
And let yourself be dead!"
I didn't ask you
If I could come here
So I cannot ask the
Condition that I leave here
I don't remember
Planning my existence
But why have you forsaken me?
Rewarded for his faithfulness
Job was give back his wealth
Twice the riches as before
Then God gave His discourse:
Where were you when I
Laid the foundations
Dug the oceans
And set its limits?
Were you around when I
Plotted constellations?
Answer me!

He who puts the Lord on trial
Puts himself on the stand

all the lyrics of this song are taken from the book of Job:

Elgibbor - Darkness Will Become Like Morning

Are not my few days almost over?
Turn away from me so I can have a moment's joy
Before I go to the place of no return,
To the land of gloom and deep shadow,
To the land of deepest night,
Of deep shadow and disorder,
Where even the light is like darkness.

(Job 10:20-22)

Yet if you devote your heart to him and
Stretch out your hands to him,
If you put away the sin that is in your hand
And allow no evil to dwell in your tent,
Then you will lift up your face without shame;
You will stand firm and without fear.
You will surely forget your trouble,
Recalling it only as waters gone by.
Life will be brighter than noonday,
And darkness will become like morning.
You will be secure, because there is hope;
You will look about you and take your rest in safety.
You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid,
And many will court your favor.
But the eyes of the wicked will fail,
And escape will elude them;
Their hope will become a dying gasp.

(Job 11:13-20)

it's actually an even heavier metal style than what Ugly posted.

this monk's chant from the Salisbury Antiphoner dates back to at least the 900's AD and is likely centuries older; this English translation from the original Latin was published in 1930.

the otherwise largely secular roots-rock band Seatrain (think "orange blossom special") wrote and recorded this song in 1970:

Seatrain - Book of Job

Hear now the tale of Job, a righteous man, who had a loving wife,
And ten sons and seven daughters. His fields were always ripe
With wheat and corn. He had ten thousand camels and five thousand sheep
And three thousand head of oxen. At sunrise
You would find him on his knees singing, "Yahweh Yehoa".
Well, one day in the court of heaven,
All the heavenly host were gathered there in the presence of the Lord,
And Satan was there among them.

Satan went to God, and God said, "Satan, Where you been?"
Satan said, "I been on Earth, among men."
God said, "You must have seen my faithful servant, Job.
You must have seen his worth and how he's evil's foe."
Job is evil's foe. Yes, he is.

Satan said, "Well, yes, God, Job is your man.
But if you struck him, God, well, what would he do then?
He'd turn his back on you and curse your name right to your face."
God said, "Allright, Bub, go and test his faith --
Go and try Job's faith."

"O my God, O my God," cried poor Job.
"I have lost everything I owned.
I lost my cattle, I lost my land.
You took my children, too.
I'm losin' my mind and the love of my wife,
But I keep my faith in You.
I still have faith in You.

"O my God, O my God," can't you hear Job?
He's singin', "This world can no more be my home.
My so-called friends speak biting words,
Telling me what to do.
My health is gone, I cannot rest,
But I keep my faith in You.
I still have faith in You."

And Job's friends, they called to one another,
"Brothers! Righteous Job has fallen.
Come, let us go and give him what we can."
Long, long they journeyed until they found Job
In the ashes of his burned-out farm.
And they sat down with him for seven days and nights in silence,
For they saw that he had suffered greatly.
But at last they could hold back no longer,
And with accusing fingers pointed at him they said,
"Oh, Job, what evil have you done to bring God's wrath upon you?"
And at this time, down the road comes Elihu,
What took one look and thought he had the whole scene covered!
Waaaaow!

That young man lectured Job until Job's poor heart near broke,
And from the whirlin' wind, God Himself spoke,
Sayin', "Who're these who claim to know my workings and all my ways?
Job has proved his faith and shall live joyous days."
Yes, Job lived joyful days. Oh, yes, he did.

there are a number of southern gospel songs referencing or quoting Job, here is just one of them, originally written by Dottie Rambo (i think?) and recorded by all kinds of people since:

He Ain't Never Done Me Nothin' But Good

CHORUS
He ain't never done me nothin'
Done me nothin' but good
Nothin' but good
Ooo, ooo ooo,
He ain't never done me nothin'
Done me nothin' but good,
Nothin' but good.

VERSE 1
Job was a righteous man, the devil couldn't doubt it.
He surely loved the Saviour, there was no doubt about it.
But satan cursed his body from his feet to his head;
Told him all his children and his cattle we dead.
Job's wife said, "Why don't you curse your God and die?"
But Job said, "Woman, you're speakin' like a foolish child".

CHORUS

VERSE 2
I gave my heart to Jesus and I took Him as my Saviour.
I cast my lots with the chosen ones and I started out for Heaven.
Soon I was forsaken and my friends left one by one;
But the good Lord walked beside me and He never left me alone.
He fed me when I was hungry,
He cheered me when I was sad.
He has been the dearest friend this child has ever had.

CHORUS

VERSE 3
History tells of Polycarp a martyr for the gospel's sake.
They built a fire around him and they tied him to a stake.
But the fire could not comsume him,
So they pierced him with a sword.
The fire went out, the blood ran down,
But still he praised the Lord.
All my years I've served Him, He ain't done me nothin' but good.
Well, I won't repent and I won't recant,
Just tell me why I should.

CHORUS

here's a pretty good live rendition by the Isaacs:

there really are a lot of southern gospel songs about Job. i'd be here all day posting them.
this one is an adaption by Bill & Gloria Gaither of a much older traditional song.

Walk Right Out of This Valley

I'm gonna walk right out of this valley, lift my hands and praise the Lord
Said ain't gonna let old Satan get me down
Why should I sit here till I die?
Heaven's a-waitin' up a little bit higher
I'm gonna walk out of this valley with my Lord

Now the Lord let down the hedge on Job to try him
Took all of his children and everything that he owned
But no, old Job didn't sit down and cry, no he lifted his head up high
Came out of that valley, thank God, with a whole lot more

Well I'm gonna walk right out of this valley, lift my hands and praise the Lord
Said ain't gonna let old Satan get me down
Why should I sit here till I die?
Heaven's a-waitin' up a little bit higher
I'm gonna walk out of this valley with my Lord, yeah

Now the road that we've gotta travel to that city
Well, it won't always be on the mountaintop
But you know the valley that we gotta face
God said he's gonna give us grace
To come up on the hill where the sun is shining bright

Well I'm gonna walk right out of this valley, lift my hands and praise the Lord
Said ain't gonna let old Satan get me down
Why should I sit here till I die?
Heaven's a-waitin' up a little bit higher
I'm gonna walk out of this valley with my Lord

Well I'm gonna walk right out of this valley, lift my hands and praise the Lord
Said ain't gonna let old Satan get me down
Why should I sit here till I die?
Heaven's a-waitin' up a little bit higher
I'm gonna walk out of this valley with my Lord

Why should I sit here till I die?
Heaven's a-waitin' up a little bit higher
I'm gonna walk out of this valley with my Lord.
