I actually read about how modern worship was just punk rock slowed down and I found it interesting.

I love peanut butter. In my family if someone was sick or had the hiccups we would say, stand on your head and gargle in peanut butter.

Contemporary Christian music (CCM), also known as Christian pop, and occasionally inspirational music, is a genre of modern popular music, and an aspect of Christian media, which is lyrically focused on matters related to the Christian faith and stylistically rooted in Christian music. It was formed by those affected by the 1960s Jesus movement revival who began to express themselves in other styles of popular music, beyond the church music of hymns, gospel and Southern gospel music that was prevalent in the church at the time. Initially referred to as Jesus music, today, the term is typically used to refer to pop, but also includes rock, alternative rock, hip hop, metal, contemporary worship, punk, hardcore punk, Latin, electronic dance music, R&B-influenced gospel, and country styles.

I don't know about this syncopation rhythm issue. It was a pet teaching of
My former pastor who told us that syncopated music was in rhythm with the heart beat.
I never understood how that could be evil. A child probably hears it's mother's heart beat before it's born. I think that was his view from someone in choir at his previous church because I couldn't get it from the Bible. He led us in wicked songs like "Old Time Religion". I wouldn't sing it though because it was against the gospel and taught works based salvation.
As to what makes a rhythm"satanic" seems like someone is stretching it. Those satanist like to take credit for everything.

The new thing is what they call AI.
The heads of the denominations always dispensed sermons and Sunday school materials. Now many are using computers to come up with sermons too.
I suppose the same is happening with a lot of new ccm.

Although I do like certain contemporary songs, I like the old hymns best. Many are full of beautiful doctrine. On average, if you compare a protestant or baptist song book to the K Love rotation, there's a huge difference in lyrics content.

One thing is true. A lot of CCM seems very self-centered.

If you look at their lyrics, they say nothing. They just have that hypnotic rhythm and dull, depressing tone.

I'll never know how much it cost...

Why would they think that? I can tell them how much it cost. It cost the Good Lord His life is what it it cost. What a stupid song.

When I was talking to atheists and various other non-believers over a period of eight years before coming here, one of the things I remember some of them saying was that Jesus did not sacrifice anything, because He knew He was going to be raised from death, as if somehow that magically nullified His giving up being part of the Godhead and leaving His Heavenly abode to manifest as a human being to crawl around in the dark and dirt with us. Kind of like if one of us could give up our humanity to become a worm and crawl around in the dirt with them to save some of them, know what I mean? That would surely entail much sacrifice. I also pointed out to those who made such arguments that just because Jesus defeated/rose from death, did not mean He did not make any sacrifices, likening it to a soldier going off to war, giving up/sacrificing the comforts of home to go to some foreign land and risk his life hoping to save some. Just because he survives does not mean he did not sacrifice anything. Any ways, how can we know what it was like for Jesus to leave Heaven and "empty Himself" to become one of us? We don't know what it is like to be God. Surely being God is much greater than being a human entity. But we have nothing really to compare it to from a human perspective, because we cannot become a worm to crawl around in the dirt with them hoping to save some.

On the other hand, we are told old things will be forgotten. How much will we really remember?

I just know that after CCM I feel worse than I did before I got to church.

How can any of that be true if they are right and God is not real?

It's like the old "God killed so many people in the old testament" argument that atheists like to use. If God is real, he has a right to do anything he wants with the people and the world he created. He's God. If he's not real, how could he kill anybody?
