Well my apologies for not updating this as often as I would have liked to.

Now I myself am no musician at all, but many of my friends are. They are all varied in musical tastes as well some being punk rockers, some good old metalheads, country, and some even playing raeggae/ska type music. As such I get a lot of exposure to all sorts of music. Anyways, one of my very best friends that is a musician showed me this guy on youtube that pretty much takes pop music, movie soundtracks, video game soundtracks, etc. and makes them into metal. Really cool stuff and all his videos are decent. I figure I'd share one of them with you all. You can find the others by simply going to his youtube page or by searching Meets Metal in youtube.

The song is Careless Whisper Meets Metal which was intriguing to me because it is originally a pop song (I think originally done by George Michael not Wham, but I could be wrong.) So I found it quite interesting how this guy took a somewhat soft pop song and made it epicly metal.

So there you have it, even pop music can be epic if you subtract Lyrics and add in some metal lol. Either way I just found it very interesting how this artist re-does some memorable tunes, plus of course it fits into this topic as he took out the lyrics.

A symphony 'dedicated to GOD.'

Find a quiet, dim lit room. Set the volume on your audio set to max.
Get comfy, close your eyes (and don't open them again for at least 64 minutes)

press PLAY

... enjoy! :)

Well I myself have been on an Asian music kick lately. Most of what I been listening to has lyrics (which I cannot understand but it sounds nice.) So seeing as this topic is in need of a little resurrection, here is some traditional Chinese music with no lyrics including some pictures for your enjoyment and a lil change of pace from the typical No Lyrics music. Really traditional Asian music comes in many genres unto themselves to explore. Genres which has not been possible to explore for millenia, even up into the early internet age until East Asia joined us on the internet. Which is pretty cool when you consider our current age in the spectrum of history.

I really like this thread! Nice to see all the nice Christian instrumental artists too, props on the Philip Glass mention, one of my favorites and a huge influence to many

One of Godspeed you black emperor's more bright songs, this epic introduction to an amazing instrumental post-rock album is filled with ambience, field recordings, trumpets, and passion..

Math-rock geniuses Tera Melos make some excellent happy tunes to rock out to
. They've been releasing more sung tracks but their early discography is very much instrumental.

For fans of classical virtuoso violin, take a shot at this Liszt piece done in a rendition by Ruggiero Ricci. What I love about this song is how ricci takes elements of cacophony and sheer melodic beauty and blends them together.

I cannot exaggerate this; fans of classic instruments will fall in love with kronos quartet. This group has pulled off numerous genres in the music landscape (Tibet monk throat singing, joyous traditional Mexican pieces) and have released plenty of material during their time, so if you like them, you're in luck!

If you like gospel organ mixed in with sparse beats, this song by James Blake isn't a wrong turn! His earlier discography was purely instrumental before he moved on to show his gorgeous voice so you can still find a lot to love.

Zu is an Italian jazz rock/noise band whose Carboniferous album is instrumental save one song so if you like it noisy and saxophone covered, Zu is your band!
