I've played say Red or Disciple or maybe some Skillet for some people and gotten semi shocked reactions. They look at it and go "Whoa, now this is HEAVY metal, head banger music even."

But... it's not. Typically people that make those generalizations are uninformed and lump styles together because they don't know any better. So because people who don't know say it, doesn't make it so.

I know.... genres exist for a reason... but if we meet people half way we'll have more metal heads in no time and less people screaming THE DEVIL HAS ENTERED THE CHURCH.

If you give people some nice progressive metal it can feel soft enough that they start craving more. Some people need to dip their toes in the water for a little while first.

Me, I'll just dive headfirst into the shallow end of the pool, and if someone pees in it, I'll add chlorine and keep swimming.

Be aware, metalcore is the metal equivalent of leprosy. You need to moderate this with another genre eventually.

Actually that is the wrong song. Yes that is metalcore. But deathcore is really kind of.. well death metalcore. So, a cop out really. It's going to sound like metalcore.

I remember hearing some stuff from Apostisy a while back, and thought mean I wana get some of that. Promptly went onto iTunes, found band, and downloaded a song of their album.
