Looks like ArchBishop Tutu could get his way then, that is going to Hell rather than a homophobic heaven. He was quoted as saying the following

"I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place," Archbishop Tutu said at the launch of the Free and Equal campaign in Cape Town.
"I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this."

This is so grievous to the soul but on the bright side of His light is revealing what is in the hearts and souls of (no matter who or what title) praise you Jesus shine your light so we may see who is dwelling in darkness, no more shades or varying shadows just walking in your light while darkness is dispelled away from us as we walk with you.

Sounds like Mr. Tutu has something to learn about chastity.

mmmm...God is not homophobic. God does not hate gay people.

Homosexuality is a sin. It hurts the people who practice it.

God does not condone or excuse homosexuality either.

The title 'ARCHBISHOP' is the saddest part of the story.

I agree this is sad but I really like what Soninme said. This is the problem with many people who are against homosexualism they begin to hate them. They are in a disordered sinful state yes but that doesn't mean that God hates them. God came for all especially for the sinner. I think this quote would be most helpful to the so called Christians who hate.

Let yourself be persecuted but do not persecute others; be crucified but do not crucify others; be insulted but do not insult others; be slandered but do not slander others. Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. Such is the sign of purity. Suffer with the sick. Be afflicted with sinners. Exult with those who repent. Be the friend of all. But in your spirit remain alone....Spread your cloak over anyone who falls into sin and shield him. And if you cannot take his fault on yourself and accept punishment in his place, do not destroy his character.

Living in South Africa we got to hear more reports on what Archbishop TuTu said, it really saddens me that is far greater to say what is politically correct instead of what the Word say's. The Lord died and loves everyone but sin is sin, and we need to repent and be led by the Holy Spirit and the Word to know where we should be going and what we should or should not be doing. The Lord never created anyone to be homosexual, this is a fallen world, and everyone hangs onto a vice whatever it may be to help them get through. I cannot imagine the abuse some people must of endured to make them decide that it is far better to love someone of the same sex gender than to face what could happen again should they choose to love the opposite sex.
I find it
amazing that statistically 100% not 99.9% but 100% of homosexual behaviour has come about due to phycail, sexual, emotional abuse suffered by the person, at times this is not even a memory anymore and is pushed so far back in the mind that people think they have alwyas been this way, a lie.

Tutu was not alone, Augustine who had a lot of influence on the development of Western Christianity stated;

“God, who made us without our consent, cannot save us without our consent”.

Replace cannot with will not

Maybe it is something in the air in South Africa.

Can I ask why we give people like this so much attention? This guy is along the lines of those that insult heavenly beings? Do we even want to address in our minds such an insult to God? Someone that says something like this has a reprobate mind. He'll get exactly what he wants.

Sorry, I have a problem with this. Most of it I can see, but as far as taking the fault on myself, that's a bit weird. Only Christ can forgive sins and took our punishment upon Himself. And only He knows when individuals truly want forgiveness and then desire to turn from their sins. Not sure where destroying someones character comes in either. Of course we're suppose to pray for everyone, but what destroys the character is to continue in sin. If someone chooses to continue in sin, that's their choice, and Christ Himself can't be crucified twice?

Yes but those who claim the name of Christ (as in 'Archbishop' of some Church) should depart from iniquity as well as not affirm it.

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

tutu's views...and this isn't the only wicked thing tutu has said...get attention because he is considered a hero of the south african anti apartheid movement...so he has a lot of influence especially in africa...

in fact much of the anglican church in south africa has been deeply corrupted by pro homosexual ideology...largely due to tutu's influence...
