when you dont have slaves or people working for you under duress, tough, you might have to do some of the work yourselves. I am sure you who are priveliged can do it. That is why lots of white missionaries go to africa. They can afford to. Dont they?
Who is privileged?
The narrative of "white privilege" is bogus.
I probably live in a worse economic condition than many of them, yet I am not complaining about it. God gifts me with what he gifts me, and I am content with that.
Discontentment is part of the BLM rhetoric. They are trying to stir up discontentment amongst sinful people who are already discontent.
The true Christian believes this:
Philippians 4:10-13 10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
So, this raises a question in my mind...could some of the issue with discontentment amongst some BLM people be related to greed, and perhaps even fueled by Word of Faith sources?
I think so.
James 4:1-10 1 What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? 2 You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. 4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, “He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us”? 6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
James was speaking to believers, but I'm pretty sure it's a correct application that would support this idea that discontentment and greed is a fundamental aspect of the motivating behavior behind Black Lives Matter.
By the way, I know missionaries and they are not wealthy people. They depend on the donations of congregations that they have developed relationships with. The entire congregation supports them through small donations individually, which add up to an amount that does not allow for lavish living. There may be a few wealthy people who sustain themselves, but it is not missionaries I know.
However, perhaps I am misunderstanding you. Your logic isn't easy for me to follow.
