Elon Musk Sued by Twitter Investors For Stock Manipulation

What a stupid, stupid thing to do! This trial will take at least a year. During that time Musk will be able to get access to records and it will all be part of the public record and you can be sure the media will gobble this up like a pack of stray dogs. Every sin, every crime Twitter has ever committed will be shouted from the rooftop and only then will the judge decide whether or not it was relevant to someone who was about to pay $44 billion. When this is all over Twitter stock will be sold at a fire sale and no legitimate judge could disagree with this being relevant. Even if Musk were to lose due to a corrupt judge Musk would simply appeal.

These stock holders will then be the ones who get sued for burning down Twitter.

Slimmed-down Elon Musk carries KITCHEN SINK into Twitter HQ as he changes his profile to 'Chief Twit', vows to cut 75% of the staff and close the $44BN deal by Friday - just as new report reveals 'absolute decline' in users
  • Elon Musk posted a video of himself carrying a sink into the social media network's San Francisco office on Wednesday
  • He captioned it: 'Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!' - and changed his Twitter profile descriptor to 'Chief Twit'
  • It comes ahead of a court-imposed deadline to close the $44 billion takeover deal by Friday
This has got to be the most epic troll.
“Let that sink in” :ROFL::LOL::ROFL:

I don't do SM. I gotta wonder what makes Twitter worth that much money?
Same. I don't have facebook, or twitter or any of that stuff. I come here and to a mom/baby site (not sure if that counts as social media) but that's it.

Twitter has a pretty heavy left-wing bias and Elon musk claims he's going to make it more balanced. I guess we'll see

It isn't...but he got strong armed into the deal because of announcements and SEC violations.

The number of accounts are dropping because the sock puppets know their days are numbered and the staff is dropping some themselves.

Plus...
Elon Musk is becoming increasingly more aligned with the republican political party.
Which is infuriating the Democrats who had control of all the major social media platforms. People were getting moderated with political bias instead of normal societal norms.

In the good old days of 2020 Twitter was considered a powerful company that could swing presidential elections. It was even said that they could get a guy with dementia elected if they wanted.

I don't think anyone could successfully sue people for suing. Some states may allow judges to have plaintiffs pay court costs if they consider a case to be downright frivolous, but I would imagine the other attorney would generally ask for a summary judgment or something similar in such cases if he/she knew what he/she were doing and cared more about fiduciary responsibility to his/her client than billable hours.

Lawsuits allow information to become public. Without the lawsuit you might not discover that the hedge fund manager knew that Twitter had 25% of their accounts were bots. If that comes out in a trial then every stock holder in that hedge fund can sue the manager for failure to properly execute his fiduciary responsibility.

Likewise, if they know it is a frivolous lawsuit up front and then get hit with the cost for that, all the stock holders in the hedge fund could again sue.

In order to sue you need injury. Loss of money is an injury. You need causation. I have suggested two ways you could have a valid argument that a hedge fund manager caused your injury. And you need redressability -- simply pay the money to the shareholders.

Why would he need to run Twitter personally? He could probably hire a hundred people to do that.
That's exactly what he will do. He will pay people to run the day today operations but he will be the man in charge so that means he will set the policies and algorithms

Some Twitter users are now very concerned that they are losing followers after Elon is purging fake/bot accounts.
Can you imagine the stress and outrage of losing followers online?!
