This is a site that has listed several extrabiblical historical secular accounts of Jesus Christ.

I would consider that as news to those that seek, but consider christian sites as circumspect because they would suspect that believers would spin information that favour our beliefs.

At least at this "christian site" at that particular web page, you have the secular references listed for the seekers to look up for themselves to see if it be true or not.

Kind of hard to spin that in a favourable light or even a disfavourable light, but then again, people have tried that with His words, so I gather that they can do it with the reports from secular references. Some people just don't want to believe in Him, because they prefer their evil deeds rather than come to Him to be reproved of them.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Theres a wiki page for "Extra-biblical references to Jesus Christ".. very interesting.. You have to do research on each to see if they are in doubt or not.. But from what I understand, due to all these references, most secular historians don't seriously doubt Jesus' existence, they only doubt the claims made about him.

Let me tell you about a group of folks who doubt the truth abouit most importnat event in Jesus' life on earth. Several years ago, the Christian Chiurch did a trans-denomenational survey of about 1150 pastors, rectors, priests and ministers asking one simple question . . . .

"Did Jesus Christ die oin the Cross?"

Less than 25% of the worthies polled actually believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross. So if you wonder at the condition of the Church, there it is. The pastors themselves don't believe what the are preaching.

I remember learning about Jesus in my junior high social studies class. Looking back, I am surprised they taught us this in a public school. I don't think the secular world as a whole denies Jesus' existence, but they do deny His relation to God, the miracles He performed, and His resurrection.

thank you for all the information you have given. Where can I find information on this poll of church leaders?
