Theres a website - landoverbaptist.net that is actually a satire website that pretends to be true Christianity when it is really all satire.

If you do research on their "church" you find out the town they are supposedly located in Freehold, Iowa.

Here is the wikipedia page with all the information you need to know, or you can just do some research on it :

Landover Baptist Church - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Basically, on the website, if you skim through the forums, you'll notice them doing such things:

- Child Trafficking
- Reviling in numerous ways
- Abuse towards women
- Rape used as a means to turn someone straight
- Rape being justified (some women are "asking for it")

And a lot of other such things.

The reason I post this here is because this is a serious problem. There is no warning on the site that it is satire, and if nobody does research (which most dont) then you think it's legitimate. I just recently got banned for posting about how it is satire which does not surprise me.

Also, a warning, I would not try to argue too much on there. They can edit your posts, edit your profile picture, etc. and theres nothing you can do about it. I have screen shots of some of the things that went on when I was on the website if anyone wishes to see them.

So basically, this is a problem. We need to pray and figure out what to do when there are satirical websites pretending to be Christian and making Christianity seem so negative when the Bible is against all that they say (and as a fair warning, they will manipulate scripture to prove their points). This may cause people to turn away from faith.

This site needs to be closed. all we can do is come against it in prayer. I had a look at the site and immediately I felt evil that was on this site. I think we should come together and pray against this site and get it shut down. otherwise many people are going to get mislead and lead astray with a site like that. Landover Baptist | Where the Worthwhile Worship. Unsaved Unwelcome

Have a look at it yourself and find time to pray against it.

I feel bad you went to their main website too. It's a more graphic than their forums so Im sorry you had to go their (besides, theres quite some disturbing pictures on their main website).

As for praying against it, I'm actually going to after I post this. I haven't prayed yet about this but I guess I should.

The worst thing that happened to me was I go upset after debating them all night long and just getting nowhere :/.

No worries bro. Im glad you brought this to our attention. There are many people who cannot get this type of news. So you did right to share and warn us of this terrible site, so we as True Christians can come against the enemy behind this awful website.

If you are lead to gather many christians to pray and come against it, Jesus is going to be there in the midst. The enemy is in overtime now working behind the scenes as he knows his time is almost up. and he will try to drag as many down to hell with him.

God bless DavidLOVESsnow for bringing this to us and sharing it on cc. Prayer is the key issue, there is power in prayer. and lets pray for this site to be closed down as soon as possible.

Thanks Richie I appreciate it :D. I prayed but I honestly hope the website is taken down, but not at the same time. Here is what I mean:

I don't want it to be taken down like lack of money or law suit. I want them to at some day think about what they are doing and realize it is wrong and find Jesus, instead of just mocking Christianity. :/ I don't think they realize what they are doing or the consequences for their actions.

Regardless, I do want the site do disappear.

I'm going to Bible study though and do some research, so you take it easy Richie and God bless you and thanks for the help against this website.

Well, if someone was seeking the truth, they would see through this horrible site. It won't deter anyone who is truly seeking the Lord. Those who aren't truly seeking may atempt to use it as a false fuel for their denial, but it would all be in vain because all are sinners, and those with knowledge of the truth who reject God know their ending and know that judgment will be upon them.

The sad thing about this site, is that it really does look legitimate. Like some really crazy weirdos believing in Christ put it up. Yet most of the links on the site are not done, and the few that are just become more and more satirical.

I wish there was some way to get this kind of junk taken down. But I guess free speech won't allow that. And the line between censorship and hate speech is pretty complicated.

Believe it or not it gets worse. I did research and they have quite a popular youtube channel where they blatantly manipulate scripture just to make the bible look bad. Just type their name in youtube and some Betty something will come up. The other worse part is, is that some of her videos have over 1,000,000 views with people in the comments agreeing with her :/.

The sad thing is there are plenty of churches who actually act that way sometimes. WBC is a good example. Maybe if there were less insane hardcore fundamentalists that these sites could parody, then it wouldnt be an issue. This site is about as evil as christians who say 9/11 was God's punishment for gays or whatever moral issue they are blaming the latest natural disaster on.

As sad as it is for me to say, you are 100% correct.

The Landover Baptist Church is a fictional[1] Baptist church based in the fictional town of Freehold, Iowa. The Landover Baptist web site and its associated Landoverbaptist.net Forum are a satire of fundamentalist Christianity and the Religious Right in the United States.

Type of site Satirical Website

The site was created by Chris Harper, who obtained his Master's Degree in English Literature from George Mason University in 1993 after being expelled from Liberty University (founded by Jerry Falwell) in 1989 for producing a satirical radio show which Liberty's administration found offensive.[2]

The fictional Landover Baptist Church is a parody of fundamentalist, Independent Baptist churches and Biblical literalism.

The Landover site also features Betty Bowers, a fictional central character on the satirical website BettyBowers.com. Betty Bowers is currently portrayed by voice actor and comedienne Deven Green, appearing both in photographs and numerous satirical videos. According to Bradley's fictional satirical biography of Mrs. Betty Bowers, she proclaims herself "America's Best Christian"

more disturbing would be that anyone would not know the whole thing is satire.

I've been frequenting that site for many years, the forum part of it at least. And yeah a lot of people don't realise it's a parody.

A lot of things on there are distasteful. Christian beliefs are greatly exaggerated and scripture is used spuriously to get a point across. Personally I think it's funny. Not because of the content but funny seeing people who believe it's true coming onto the site and trying to argue against it.

If you think there is child trafficking occuring in the church then notify the FBI. I'm sure they'd have someone perform an investigation.
