Really you're buying that story? FB being down has cost Zuckerberg $6 billion. Everyone who uses Facebook will be looking to set up on other sites as well to protect their business. That would take "cutting off your nose to spite your face" to a whole new level.

It seems much more likely that this was cyber war. They just snatched up everyone's data on FB.

Unless they actually hacked my device then I don't think there's any Facebook data that would be harmful if someone got it.
The only thing they're going to see is what pages I follow

When FB suspended me without explanation I deleted my account the same day. Shook the dust off and haven't looked back since!

Maybe all the old friends and family that I am no longer in touch with because I'm NOT on social media with them and they don't know how to keep in touch without it might actually start to recall how to pick up a phone and make a call.... or better yet :
how to pick up a pen and paper and write a HANDWRITTEN note then send it off in the mail.
Lord only knows (I've lost count) the number of letters and cards I've sent with no reply ( yet my mom whose on facebook will tell me "oh Julie made a post saying she got a card from you and just loves the photos"......... )

While I'm not a fan of fakebook, I do make most of my income by posting my reconditioned appliances on marketplace. It's not because I want to, but where I live it's the only place I can advertise. I also use it to find appliances I can recondition.
It used to be a far better platform to buy and sell on but last year they changed the way it works and now it's pretty pathetic, but for me it's still the only game in town.
