I want this man to get a fair and unbiased trial and if convicted, a punishment commensurate with the crime that he is convicted of.

If I were the president, I would heave made the exchange for the five prisoners. As soon as I had my prisoner in my possession, and was clear of the exchange site, a drone would have took care of the five.

As well as the guys meeting them there with Bergdahl. Collateral damage would not have been a concern of mine.

The guys meeting them there for the exchange were American soldiers. They would be a concern of mine. Bergdahl's desertion already cost brave worthy of the name American soldiers their lives. No need to cost others theirs just for picking this deserter up from his terrorist buddies. Oh, I mean captives.

Bergdahl removed his uniform when he was manning his guard post, folded it neatly, and then left it and his Army issued rifle at the site and walked into the Afghanistan night.

Later, "while captive" of his terrorist Taliban captors he made a video at their behest. In full Army camouflage uniform!
Where did he get that? When he had left his own uniform behind? And his helmet?

What's the sunglasses concealing I wonder.

I don't doubt Obama will pardon him if he's found guilty, since right before Obama leaves office in less than 20 months he can pardon anyone he wants. And being he's a terrorist sympathizer and has demonstrated himself to be a traitor when he released five terrorist leaders in exchange for this Army deserter, he'll no doubt pardon every single person now held in Guantanamo Bay and return that property to Cuba.
Thereby fulfilling his campaign promise to close Guantanamo that way when he failed prior.

I'm talking about the Taliban idiots who brought Bergdahl to the scene. The drone strike could wait until they were a mile away or so.

And yet what would happen to all those POW's held by the Taliban or other terrorists in other countries once they all learned of this? Had we made a drone strike on the Taliban after this exchange?

I hate to point this out, given civilians think it is a callous attitude, but there are only two rules of war:

Rule #1. Young men die.
Rule #2. Officers, doctors, medics, even presidents, can't change Rule #1.

We do not tolerate the capture of our soldiers. We do not allow those who have captured them, brainwashed them, indoctrinated them, etc., to live. Even when the soldiers they capture are deserters.

Period. End of story.

IT constantly amazes me that certain topics, completely unrelated to this CHRISTIAN chat...gets so much time and effort and attention. Isn't there a chat that embraces news media and modern thought that would be more appropriate there instead of here? Sheesh! You might as well post your grandmother's favorite brownie recipe in an auto mechanic chat...no difference.
Why dont you cry about it some more? Im sure that will help.

Oh, he will, believe it. Every time he sees a thread he doesn't think fits the criteria -- whatever those are -- he'll complain. He's a troll.
