Terminally ill zoo worker says goodbye to giraffe
ROTTERDAM, Netherlands – There's a photo making its way around the internet, showing a touching moment between a terminally ill zoo employee and one of the giraffes he cared for.
The 54-year-old man's name is Mario, and he worked at the Rotterdam Zoo in The Netherlands for years. He has a terminal brain tumor, and his one wish was to say goodbye to the animals.
When he was wheeled up to the giraffe exhibit, one of the giraffes came over, leaned down, and gave Mario what appeared to be a kiss.
The Ambulance Wish Foundation made it happen, and shared this photo of the moving moment.
