Whoopie Goldberg is a stage name. Her real name is Caryn Elaine Johnson.
I'm certainly not a fan of Whoopi Goldberg, but I certainly respect her right to express her opinion, whether it be right or wrong. There are so many politically correct activists that want to shut everyone up that doesn't hold the political line to their credo.
We are in danger of losing our freedom if we are punished for expressing our thoughts. The mob demands that you keep your thoughts to yourself.

FYI, in Germany the Nazi's used the tactic of scaring everyone into remaining silent. So did the Russian and Chinese communists.

While I think Goldberg got it wrong, in her perception of the holocaust, she has a right to be wrong and still express her thoughts. And so do you and I, whether we are right or wrong. In fact, we have an obligation to do so.

According to the scripture we as Christians follow we are no longer our own, our Saviors thoughts become our thoughts, His desires become our desires.
His view becomes our view as we renew our minds to Him in all areas.
Worldly, unsaved, un-renewed people insist on their own ways.

She can have whatever opinion she likes. But two things, what she said was misinformation and secondly she has been the most outspoken and unforgiving of others opinions and mistakes. She's called for others to be cancelled and they have been fired for less than she said. When she was corrected by others in the group she doubled down on her stupidity and said it again on late night tv. She has been spoken to before about her Antisemitism. Had someone said something as stupid about blacks, she would be the first one calling for their heads. She has been known to curse guests she disagrees with off set. So she should get the same justice she gives to others.

Just as a second point, as Holocaust survivors are passing away, we need to be certain that the truth is preserved. Younger generations need to never forget the horrors of the Holocaust so it never happens again. You can have whatever opinion you like, but there are such a thing as facts. Pearl Harbour is a fact of history, the Civil War is a fact of history. And we must be certain the truth of these historic moments are not muddied and the truth be told and upheld from those who would try and deny it and erase it's historical truth.

While I agree with you, I also feel we should be equal on this as well, if we are going "cancel" some for ignorant things said, then we need to cancel them all when ignorant things are said. Otherwise we can't be tossing any for saying what they think, ignorant or not.

The word is "anti-Semitic". Anyway there's a lesson here for everyone. Choose your words with care and do your homework before you say anything. Now someone should be kind enough to send Whoopi a copy of Mein Kampf. After she read's it she will declare "Mein Gott! This is all about race!"
Thanks, My auto correct kept telling me it was wrong to be spelled Anti-semitic, so I thought maybe it was sematic, since that went through the spellcheck thingie in my laptop.

...she wouldn't be asked the question if she were white.
That's the beauty of black privilege today. You can get away with anything, no matter how outrageous. Look at the black mayor of New York. He is allowed to get away with blaming the poor inanimate guns, instead of dealing with the criminals in New York city. He should have a chat with black Eric Holder, who had the brilliant idea of Operation Fast and Furious.

It comes up as one word in my auto correct, but we all know how well auto correct works...

So, you say that we need to cancel all ignorant thoughts/speech. Well, a question, who will be the judge as to what will be canceled, who will be allowed to express their thoughts, and who will be silenced. Are conservatives to be the judge of what can be said, the liberals, maybe you. So who will be the judge on what can be said?

As I posted before, each of us has the right and even the obligation to speak our minds and our thoughts, as we see them. And this is whether you agree with them or not.

I didn't say I thought we should cancel anyone. I said fair is fair, and if one goes then the other has to go also. We can't be cherry picking who we allow to say ignorant stuff and who we won't. Personally, I think the whole "cancel culture" stuff is stupid, and if a person chooses to show their ignorance by saying things like she said, then that is their right.

However "The View" has been trying to cancel everything that is right, decent, lawful, constitutional, conservative, and Christian for a very long time. So I would say the The View should now be cancelled, and replaced with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, but The View is more goofy than Goofy.

Liberals started this game. Whoopi and her hounds have gone after others on the very subject of race and called for their cancellation. So as sister GofW said, we either make the decision that no one is cancelled or everyone is. But social media only holds conservatives to that standard. You can speak your mind and your opinions, but there are facts of history. The Holocaust is but one of them. She wants to give her opinion, label it opinion, the fact is the Holocaust was about racism.

A fitting end

You are very critical of the show 'The View'. You must watch it a lot to know so much about it. If you think it is against everything that is right/decent/lawful, then why do you have it on your view screen?

It appears that many posters on this thread watch 'The View' on a regular basis and then say they hate the show. Doesn't make sense. So, why do you watch?

This thread is about the hypocrisy and racism of a public figure and not the viewing habits of members. Are you far-left?

I've never seen the show? I like a lot of movies in which Whoopie Goldberg has starred, so I did research on her a while back, but all my current information is coming from news articles online.
