I'd like to hear your thoughts. I've been hearing a lot of talk of this theory, it's compelling.
I was just teasing.
I don't think there is any biblical or historical evidence to support British Israelism, African Israelism, Native American Israelism, etc.
It is, however, easy to understand where these theories stem from.
If God, in the Bible, gave special promises to Israel, then it could give spiritual, sociological, or political currency to any group who could appropriate those promises for themselves by claiming to be Israel.
This has been going on for a long time.
Lots of different groups claim to be a "lost tribe".
If we study the scripture, there don't appear to be any lost tribes at all.
Some of the Israelites were amalgamated into neighboring gentile nations, and some were not.
The reality is fairly uninteresting and pretty much lacking in any excitement or mystery.
But, it's fine for people to believe whatever they want.
I don't really care who the Pilgrims ate dinner with anyway.
