Harvard President Claudine Gay Resigns Following Plagiarism Allegations, Congressional Testimony

Harvard President Claudine Gay has resigned following allegations of plagiarism, a month after testimony before Congress where she refused to state that calling for the genocide of Jews constituted harassment.

In a letter, Ms. Gay said that stepping down “is not a decision I came to easily.”

“It has become clear that it is in the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual,” she wrote.

She took no responsibility for the plagiarism allegations nor the state of campus hatred toward Jews and Israel.

The school’s student newspaper, The Harvard Crimson, first reported the resignation. Ms. Gay’s tenure was just over six months and is the shortest in the 387-year history of the school.
Ms. Gay has been accused of plagiarism stemming from her career in academia.

Not so smug now. Wondering where her next financial windfall will turn up smh

She was totally unfit for the job.
When she says that she didn't come to that conclusion easily....that's code speak that she was essentially fired.

And truthfully the board of directors is ultimately responsible...she is just a mouthpiece for them and when she testified before congress (a layup for most at that level) she failed miserably. That's why she was fired....but since she has an ego to match her position....she likely will never own up to the truth.

I think this shows the wheels are coming off their chariots, they are about to all be drowned in the Red Sea. I refuse to assume the hiring committee at Harvard didn't know about this, that would mean they are incompetent. Instead I think it is far more likely she was well connected.

It was far more that harassment. But that's another topic. She should never have been made president to begin with. It was all about DEI and Critical Race Theory, and giving blacks an unfair advantage over other ethnic groups. Whoever was involved with her appointment was plain stupid. But today stupidity has become the hallmark of the so-called Ivy League institutions. Many of their graduates are in government, and make stupid decisions daily. And Obama stupidly tried to intervene to prevent her from being kicked out.

Do the Leftists ever own up to the truth? And if someone was to properly investigate how those other two anti-Semitic women became presidents of their institutions, there would be some serious shenanigans behind their appointments. Now just one last one needs to resign.

Harvard, and other "Ivy-League" universities, have long held to anti-sematic beliefs and practices... along with outright socialist agendas... Here's a link to an op-ed piece from the Times of Israel about this very thing.

Harvard's nonsense

A lot of these "prestigious" colleges have turned into ideological training camps now. You can see it on how the new generation thinks. It's like they come out of a factory, programmed, ready to go.

She was there for 6 months and now has the honor of the shortest tenure of playing at President at Harvard. But of course you are right in stating she should never have been made President of that or any university to begin with. Now the usual choir is screaming racial prejudice.

She is so hurt by all the negative comments and harassment. Hey lady! That is how the Jewish students that you abandoned felt. The hypocrisy has reached new levels with the left.

Obama is the one who kicked off the current racial divisions currently in vogue. But you probably know that

History has been twisted into a vague and seriously distorted rendition of 'it's how you feel about it all. the truth is how you feel and not what actually happened."

Delusion is the actual pandemic.

Yeah, she claims she is a victim. I would suggest she might be, but one of her own making.

Whenever blacks are found guilty of wrongdoing, they pull out the victim and race cards. Obama and Michelle began this racist trend to generate "white guilt" and no one stood up to him and said "Obama you are the racist".

She should have been fired, and I am tired of the accusations of racism when the woman wasn't fit for her position. She shouldn't be at that school at all, and now I am hearing she is a Professor there.

Before condemning her we should understand her argument.

She was the president of Harvard, a Jewish man pledged $100 million donation, then the palestinian protests erupted on campus calling for the genocide of the Jews. She was called before congress to condemn that and say that it violated school policy but she was unable to say that calling for the genocide of the Jews violated Harvard's policies. After that they discovered that she had 50 examples of plagiarism in her Phd thesis and whatever else she has published. The claim has been made that if a student at Harvard had 1 case of plagiarism they would have to leave, however Harvard says they have reviewed her case and they are fine with her. Apparently the rule about plagiarism applies to students but not professors.

So the man watching this was offended and decided to pull the $100 million he had pledged, causing Harvard to demand she resign as president. What is confusing to me is this, was she a black woman from Haiti when he offered the $100 million or only a black woman from Haiti when he decided to cancel his donation? It seems strange to me that a racist would not have any trouble giving her the money but then when she refuses to condemn genocide now he is a racist.

Anyway, that is a summary of her argument. Now you can condemn her.

Trend of the Week: Silicon Valley Has the Woke Mind Virus on the Brain (msn.com)

"
Harvard’s President Claudine Gay, the first Black woman to lead the university, resigned last week after facing fierce backlash from conservatives, Silicon Valley, and Wall Street. Gay’s response to the Israel and Hamas war, allegations of plagiarism, and her unfortunate testimony before Congress about whether genocide denotes hate speech all led up to this moment. She became the shortest-tenured President in Harvard’s history, but her ousting represented more than that—many see it as vindication that DEI is a thing of the past.

The problem with DEI is it is an embarrassment to minorities. I know many blacks who cannot stand Kamala Harris.

Compare putting Claudine Gay into that position with Jackie Robinson. If they had done a DEI hire when they wanted to integrate baseball it would have been a complete failure and it would have clearly been done by those who wanted to stop integration.
