Did you? Because pressing on a mans airways for nearly nine minutes is the primary cause of death by Chauvin against George Floyd. .

Pretty sure I know what I watched, yes. It may have been, may not. As I said, when the facts all come out we'll see.

I am. But it depends on the jury. If you read Minnesota law as is defined under the first degree murder statute, murder defined first, it becomes clear the DA had cause to up the charge from third to first degree.

He may have had cause, or feel that he did. But my point is we've had these "clear cut" cases in the public court of opinion. Then when all the facts come out it's not what we first thought. As I said with "hands up don't shoot".

Imagine someone pressing half or more of their bodyweight on your throat with their knee for nearly nine minutes. While you're on your stomach on blacktop.

We've already established that was wrong.

Sure I am. You are too. Everyone in any one of these threads is. It is called an opinion.

No it's a judgement call to say people don't care because they don't live there. You're judging, and it is unfair.

Just as the DA made a judgment call under color of law when reviewing all the evidence. Including the same videos we've seen. And God only knows if there is more.
Right we don't know all the facts. So let's wait till they all come out before we decide the case and judge other people.

Unfortunately, one of the facts after the fact of George's death under a cops knees was the official first coroners report which attributes GL's death to suffocation while in custody. You doubt that judging by your remarks thus far. A coroner is impartial and deals with what the body tells them happened to take the life formerly within. It would be folly to continue this discussion with you when you deny the fact of the coroners first report.

Sigh, there really is a full moon out around here. I'm saying we don't have all the facts so wait and see. Simple as that.

Someone made a comment about how that didn't seem to apply when he was in his own car.
That's because George Floyd was going into the back of a squad car! A squad car is not as open as ones own personal vehicle. It is a very closed environment. The Plexiglas and likely also bars panel behind the front drivers seat. The very close space between the back bench seat and that petition, is tight. A claustrophobic condition would respond to that environment. Whereas one's own car has a wide open windshield , the driver seat can be pushed as far back as needed, and the driver, Floyd in this case, has control of the window to allow it to open for air. None of that happens in the back of cop cars.
I wanted to say the same thing, I am glad someone else was able to see that.

Ignore denominational commentary he makes in the middle, it's a fitting sermon...
This has really touched me, I am so broken my God, it is what I have been trying to put across. I am not orthodox, but this is what it means to be a Christian a true follower of Jesus Christ. Thank you for sharing. May the Lord teach us to share the love that he has so graciously given us, with the people He created in His own image. My God have mercy on us.

I am not Orthodox either but it was such a great sermon and such a great place to post it... He has great sermons, I actually spent my afternoon today watching his stuff. I think we are so apart now, we all started fearing and doubting intentions of one another, everyone is digging into their ditch on both sides and it's creating a very bad situation that keeps spiraling down and healing is not in sight. Yes may God have mercy on us. amen

I have said this before, but I will repeat it.

The majority of the people in the United States don’t know what it’s like being part of a minority.

I can see it reflected in the comments here. They are not evil, they just haven’t experienced what minorities are going through.

Take me as an example. I’m white, blonde and blue eyed. Everything looks fine on the outside. No problem.

But...

When I’m starting to speak people change. My native language isn’t English, and that’s easy to hear. Problem is that it’s not only not English, it’s even Louisiana French, which reveals that I’m a Cajun. And then we’re on with it.

Since I look white people dont even believe me when Im telling them that I’m experiencing racism almost every day.

So I know a little bit about what African Americans are going through, but they can’t in any way prevent racism from happening. I can just shut up and no one will know.

When I’m on duty sometimes thugs will challenge me with mocking my speech. Thugs will do most anything to make you emotionally uncomfortable when apprehended, so you have to be aware of that so you don’t end up hurting them because you lost your cool.

And that’s what often happens to the cops that went too far. They can’t handle the challenge and that means education isn’t good enough to weed them out.

look folks , pointing out that mr. floyd was trying to pass counter fit money in a liquor store while being high ( and he was in porn movies on the side). , and while his death was wrong, he put himself in position for it to happen with bad life choices.

facts are not racist . only race baiters try to make them so.

LOL

No. Mr gb9.

I don’t have thin skin.

I have been a law enforcement officer for more than 20 years, except for the periods when I have been deployed overseas in military operations or at sea as a sailor.

But racism exists even though you’re cracking jokes about it.

I don't think he's saying the cop didn't do anything wrong. Clearly he did. But seeing the whole video now changes the narrative. It's unlikely they will get him for murder. And there's nothing that shows he was being racist. He used an illegal hold and he will possibly do time for that. But to say Argicola has no compassion is an unfair comment. Simply looking at the facts of the case and saying the court of public opinion jumped too fast without having all the facts. This happens all the time. But the problem is people have been beaten, murdered businesses and buildings burned to the ground because of this. And when the verdict comes out it will happen all over again. smh
Exactly. The officer is still guilty of a crime. But was the illegal restraint the cause of death and was it intentional. Here are some other perspectives. Basically 2 criminals messed up that day. Floyd and the officer.

I had a little chat with the DA here, and in his opinion it’s second degree or manslaughter we’re talking about for Mr Chauvin. First degree will be difficult to prove.

I think you're right. And that's going to start a whole new round of riots. But people here are calling me racist for saying they aren't going to the ending they want. smh People are out for blood without knowing the whole situation. The cop was wrong in what he did and will likely do time for it. But that's not what people want to hear. They want the death penalty. When I see Christians throwing in with this attitude I find it quite stunning. The police office should do time for the crime he committed, not for what the public wants to believe.

Yep. People don't want to listen to facts. They want to make up their mind before all evidence is out and the trial happens. Extremely dangerous attitude. The cop was wrong and will do time for it no doubt. But Floyd had a history too. I don't think anyone is going to buy that he was claustrophobic, he's done time before. He was incarcerated 5 times. Doubtless whatever he was on was freaking him out. But this is going to go down the way people think it will. And they can scream racism all they want to, there is no evidence of that in either video. And the fact that Christians have become so unhinged while discussing this and outright accusing others of racism is stunning. It shows people will follow a lie if it's told long enough. People still think BLM is something Christians should support even after they have been shown evidence to the contrary. I worry for this country, they are too easily swayed by public opinion and do no research of their own. It's stunning.

The some comments I am reading here are just shocking. I have said this before, if, God forbid, a teacher was to harm a student in class because that student misbehaved, would you say, I guess the the individual had it coming because they misbehaved. They knew the rules of the school they should have followed them? I do not think so, as a person with authority, a teacher should know how to deal with such behaviour without causing bodily harm. But, looking at some of the comments here, I am sure some people would not agree.

I don't see anyone denying what the cop did was wrong. He used an illegal move and he'll do time for it. He knew better and should have found a better way to hold him. People should wait for the trial and see what comes to light before making assumptions.

Pilate once said, "What is truth?"

Our culture has thrown out the absolutes and objectivity of reality to fill the hunger of selfish desires. Where feelings are more absolute than facts. Where desires are better to be given into than withheld. Everything from covid, abortion, genders, to police is politically divided. Not only politically but people find others to say what they want to hear. Medical experts contradict each other, the data analysts examine the data differently, censorship hides facts, propaganda promotes lies.

The cop was wrong and will do time for it no doubt. But Floyd had a history too.
They both were criminals. Floyd should of still been in prison and the officer should of been fired or charged year's ago.

I don't think anyone is going to buy that he was claustrophobic, he's done time before. He was incarcerated 5 times. Doubtless whatever he was on was freaking him out.
Nope don't buy it. Possibly he was due to be strung out on drugs. But that isn't going to stop you from being arrested. He was just sitting in his own car.

And the fact that Christians have become so unhinged while discussing this and outright accusing others of racism is stunning. It shows people will follow a lie if it's told long enough.
Well unfortunately ignorance runs wild when the culture runs from God. The church for decades have been corrupted with the culture ignorance.

People still think BLM is something Christians should support even after they have been shown evidence to the contrary.
Again ignorance. No Christian should support the BLM Marxist organization.

I worry for this country, they are too easily swayed by public opinion and do no research of their own. It's stunning.
Dont worry. God is in control. I'm 90% sure the Patriots of America will win. It may be a hard battle. But we will win.

And if of the 10% be of God's will then may we face trial and tribulations with courage and Spirit led. God still wins. And ultimately even if our bodies fail, we live again eternally.

once again, what happened to mr. floyd was wrong, criminal , and should not have ever happened .

however, that does not negate the fact that personal choices he made put him in that position that led to the bad thing that happened to him.

and. as far as school goes, when i was in 5th grade, ( 1985), the english teacher had to leave the room for a few minutes , and told us to sit there quietly till she came back.
we were loudly talking when she came back.

and we were all lined up in the hall and paddled on the rear for not doing as we were told.

and we as a class never did that again.

God is love ...therefore we must love (1 John 4:7-21, John 15:12). As followers of Christ we ought to correct transgressors (those not doing what is right), carry each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:1-3). What are you as a Christian doing about the discrimination people of colour are facing? Most Christians I have seen or heard speak chose to preach on certain sins, while ignoring others. Injustice is a sin (Micah 6:8). My prayer is that God Almighty, who holds the hearts of kings in His hands (Proverbs 21:1) and rules in the affairs of men (Daniel 4:17), will fill the hearts of our leaders with compassion. (Matthew 9:36).

I am a black African, I been in situations where people have taken pictures of me while I am working and made fun of my looks, people calling me and writing the N-word on my property. But when those people were caught, all I saw was scared people who do not know better and my heart broke for them, and the only thing I could do is hug them and continue showing them love, but even when I did that some were still hostile to me.

But why do I do that? Because I am a Christian I am an ambassador of Christ in this world, God loves these people. So even when they have hurt me over and over again, and yes it hurts I go home and cry. But the Lord feels my heart with compassion and my prayer every day is Lord let my life be a testimony to Your love and Your kindness, may this life I live draw many to You.

The difference becomes are we going to punish the one for his sins or all for the sins of one? Are we going to defund and eradicate the police over the actions of the rare and few? This isn't China...yet.... but our police officers are some of the best in the world and we live in a government that allows the change for the better. 81% in Gallup poll of African Americans want to keep the police or even add more police. Most Americans can see we do not have a police problem. We have a culture problem. A heart problem. A sin problem. Our systems are some of the best for allowing liberty to be protected but corrupted souls and hurt even the best of systems.
