Israel has announced it will pay university students to circulate pro-Israeli information on social media networks, without having to identify themselves as working for the government.
The move was publicised in a statement from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, the Associated Press reported. Students will receive scholarships to "engage international audiences online" and combat anti-Semitism and calls to boycott Israel, it was alleged.
In 2012, a Palestinian-run blog reported similar arrangements between the National Union of Israeli Students and the Israeli government. Students would be paid $2,000 to post pro-Israel messages online for five hours a week.

Now I understand the illogical position taken by some here. :)

While I don't support this response. Drett, Palestinian organizations such as the PLO, Fatah, and Hamas have been funding and supporting anti-Israeli college groups such as "Students for Justice in the Middle East."

That group by the way became famous at "Messiah College" for allowing Hamas to send a spokesperson to speak to them but not Israel for "fear that the truth would be lost by his coming". It was found out that some of the funding for this college organization came from Hamas.

Both sides are playing the political game. Both sides are wrong in this.

The only problem I see is that taxpayer dollars are ultimately being funneled into habits involving sex and booze.

If Israel wants a few spin artists, I'm sure after the 2014 election cycle there will be plenty of good ones available.

Not so illogical when you look at it :)
I'll cop some flack for this, but there is no way I'll support the Israel of today.

I'm not a blind follower of any nation, however . . .

If Israel's enemies laid down their weapons today, then the Middle East would have peace today.

If Israel laid down their weapons today, we'd see a 2nd Holocaust.

Nothing wrong with a little self preservation now and then.

If the enemies of Israel laid down arms and never fired another shot in anger against Israel then the people in Gaza would have open borders, including their own port.

What people do with their wages is their own business. It's no different than a civil servant getting his monthly paycheck and buying a bottle of tequila and some condoms. Should he have his wages held back because of it?

The same could be said about any conflict when one side holds power like Israel does. But what you're asking is unrealistic, I'm afraid. Naively so.

No sir. That really is how concerned I am over the fact Israel is paying college students to make propaganda.

I am not being nieve, just hypothetical. I perfectly well know that the agenda to kill every Jew and wipe Israel off the map is never going to end and so the state sponsored terrorists and paramilitary groups will continue to fire missiles and mortars into Israel, while fooling the west it is action against so called land grab and the plight of Gaza and West Bank.

There's nothing smart about it. It's typical 'I'm Christian so if I don't defend the ''chosen ones'' I'll go to hell'. It isn't smart whatsoever.

Is that what I said? lol.

Of course, plenty of people support Israel. However, I've read arguments from the people in question several times about Israel's status as the chosen land, how Israel have a right to the land because God says so. Historically, without arguments regarding God (as Kaylagirl wants me to think of the topic, to ''leave God out of it'') much of Israeli occupied land, under the UN's ruling, belongs to Palestine.

With all due respect Human you are young, its easy to listen to propaganda.Honestly, check out history, you dont need to argue the Bible or "chosen people" angle.Look for the truth and unless you are anti Semitic you will find it.Israel is entitled to their land.

I would like to hear your non-Biblical historical angle.

The one I hear most often is the idea that Israelis are entitled to the land because their distant ancestors once occupied it. If some tribe of Monacan Indians came upon my house demanding my land, I would tell them to go pound sand. My ancestors owned vast parcels of land in France, Ireland, and Britain. I would not consider myself entitled to it and neither should the present owners. Suffice to say, if we determined ownership of land by way of whose distant ancestors owned what, there would be no real means of determining who actually owns what property.

I want to hear you out though and I'm sure Human does as well. Give us the "historical" case.
