No, its not. I can tell you story after story of people that came to the Lord in the years I traveled in ministry. All we did was preach the truth of the Gospel,sang songs that did the same. People came to the Lord,it was that simple. And not churched people either.People who had no knowledge of the truth. In fact Id say its harder to reach a former Christian with the Gospel than a non Christian.
