The Civil War was waged in large part over the imposition of tariffs.
Views were polarized to the point where people were willing to kill to uphold what they believed to be true. A movie has come out with the same name... it was pretty brutal. I couldn't watch It.

Slavery, for some, was an economic, and not a moral choice.
Slavery was on it's way out. It wasn't a southern thing to want slavery, it just was a way of life that everyone was accustomed to knowing about.
Few very wealthy plantation owners had slaves, but that awful group was unjustly projected upon all the southern states populations while hypocritically excusing northern slavery of various forms and people.

In public fool skool we are brainwash into believing that northerners were morally superior due to their opposition to slavery, while southerners were all a bunch of jango hatin crackers, white trash crackin' da whip at all the Africans torn from their countries by Americans. Most southerners were just people like most northerners, blacks Chinese or whatever ethnic, demographics. They were trying to take care of their families and had not much to say at all about people like kamalas slave owning ancestors.

Do you think the northern people decided to not where cotton clothing or have cotton mills making textiles?
No, a lot of poor northern women and children worked in sweat shops while their husbands got black lung and cave ins constantly swinging picks in mines owned by very wealthy boss hogs. It was tough for a lot of people.

Lincoln wasn't the icon of courageous morality that the winners writing textbooks lead us to believe. I could write a chapter on his evil deeds .
The political deep state talked Lincoln into making the issue of slavery a selling point to get more commoners to sign up as cannon fodder to be slaughtered by the wealthy banksters who were funding BOTH SIDES of the war. They ALWAYS do this.
They are attempting to do it again.

I'm taking the time to share this, not to be argumentative or get one up Cameron. That was the past and there's nothing that we can change about it.
However, we can learn from it and
decide to teach your children or grandchildren the lessons of history and of wars. Otherwise, the public fool system will direct them to give their precious lives away for the banksters.

To say slavery wasn't predominantly a southern issue is false. And wars are always about money.
I'd be interested in seeing the evidence you have against Lincoln, because what I know leads me to believe his was a divine appointment...in the arena of...for such a time as this.
That history is written in a slanted manner to influence perspective is nothing new. We only have to listen to the news each day to see narratives driven. Shoot, we see it on this site daily. And public education, though poor now, was not always thus. The Bible itself was an early school primer, and the Constitution was, until a few generations ago, taught in school.
Overall, the failure in our country to allow such wickedness to flourish lies with ourselves and our own failure to work for the cause of liberty in the time it has been entrusted to us. Presently, we have a choice to make: defend and fight for liberty, or succumb to tyranny.
The battle begins on our knees, but may well require blood at this point.

Ultimately, he was correct. And the causes of the war were much more complex than simply slavery. At that time there were actually three different areas of the country...North, South, and West...vying for the particular desires of each region.
I, personally, have no problem becoming an independent state or group of like minded states. We can assume our percentage of the debt and acquire our percentage of national assets. Watch how fast a wall goes up then.

I'm not saying that liberty is not worth fighting for. I'm pointing out that the enemies of liberty ALWAYS frame the arguments to push their agenda.
See my video posted on 911 Road to Tyranny for details.

We should fight the good fight of faith seriously and non violently because the deep state is pushing for civil war. Even Barry Sotero and his husband Mike came out with the predictive programming movie to alert their buddies. The movie is called Civil War and it's free to stream out there as a propaganda piece. You have discernment so you shouldn't be fooled.

If they succeed in starting Civil War, it will be likely be worse than anyone in this thread knows other than those who have seen it in other nations.

I ran across this by accident the other day. I think it shows that veterans/ enlisted are considering that it might become reality.
This is pretty mild, but stop at 34:00 because he never gave >The Gospel.<

War is always rife with suffering, destruction, and death. And many wars are manipulated solely for profit. But there are times in history when in the course of human events it is necessary to protect liberty. That now is such a time can be argued, but I think it is such a time.

This doesn't negate our responsibility as Christians to affect the culture with the gospel. In fact, I believe it focuses it.
As I said earlier, prayer is where all things begin. But as faith is the end of prayer, the exercise of our faith is necessarily the response of prayer. And each of us, as Christians, should already be engaged in the culture. If we aren't having a voice in school board meetings or praying in front of abortion centers, we ought to be supporting ministries that are engaging the culture and the people. The gospel being lived out is often the only gospel that some will ever hear.

On a personal level, at 62,I have no real desire to go to War. And as a father of 5 military age sons, I have no desire to see them go to war. But neither am I personally willing to have someone put a boot on my neck and tell me it's the latest in massage therapy. Perhaps we need a few more Patrick Henry's in our time.

Trump and Harris are both too polarizing. It’s high time that they slow down and start focusing on their own politics instead of demonizing each other.
Firstly, it is Harris who is doing the demonizing. Trump is focused on his own policies and his one major goal. Check it out carefully without your biases.

Secondly it is too late for her to change her stance. So she will continue to speak evil about Trump hoping that that is enough. And that is her sole "policy". She refuses to answer simply questions about policies.

To say slavery wasn't predominantly a southern issue is false. And wars are always about money.
But there was absolutely no reason for Lincoln to go to war with actual Americans (and a huge portion of the USA). That was insane and led to many abuses, as well as many lives lost for nothing, And it did cost a lot.

So there were other options. He could have offered generous compensation to all slave owners (who were indeed predominantly in the south). He could have offered to have the slaves freed when their owners were properly compensated. He could have even arranged to relocate all freed slaves to another state (such as Oklahoma) and settled them properly in their own portion of that state.

At the same time he could have made sure that the Indians were also properly compensated for losing their lands, and treated properly so that they did not get forced onto reservations. He could have made sure that both non-Natives and Natives were protected from each other. It would have taken a lot of hard work and a lot of goodwill of the part of Northerners, and a lot of money. But the cost may not have been much more than the cost of the war on both sides. And he could have made sure that Northern predators did not destroy the South. While he was all about freeing black slaves, he virtually enslaved the Natives.

Those are all good points.

If you read the memoirs of Lincoln from early on, it wasn't slavery that drove him. He was a Republican in name but a federalist to the extreme.
There was a gutting of the constitution as much as the Patriot Act. We suffer from his post war dictates today. The entire form of government changed In many ways.

When the South seceded, Lincoln had a choice to make. Let them go, or fight to keep them as part of the Union. You may think he made the wrong choice, but that was the choice.
Lincoln did sign a bill in 1862 to compensate slave owners up to $300 for all freed slaves. It did no good.
The poor treatment of native Americans began long before Lincoln, and you can only focus on so much as President. And Northern lawmakers were not inclined to give money to the South. There is only so much a president can do.
Slavery was the hot button topic of that day. Abortion is the same today. The nation is divided along moral lines. What do you suppose would happen right now if a group of states seceded? Do you believe level heads would prevail?

No one really wants a civil war. It would actually be a good thing if red states would secede.

The problem is that in many of these red states the governors are RINOs, and so are the representatives at the state level. The Democrats stay totally united on all their evil issues. The RINOs do not unite with the Repulican conservatives (few as they are).

So in the end this question is moot. During the Civil War the North was united and so was the South, for their own reasons. Today the RINOS always betray their country to please the Democrats. If Trump gets back into the WH, they will not unite behind him 100%. The sabotaged him last time.

But the Founding Fathers never imagined a civil war in the UNITED States of America. The had already fought a war to abolish tyranny. But slave owners were not totally or uniformly tyrannical. They needed the slaves to be productive, so they gave them a measure of decency.

The Founding Fathers did not see slavery as evil, and those who had slaves treated them quite well. However, the result of all the blacks moving North can now be seen for what it is. Totally destructive. Affirmative action did nothing worthwhile. There is no question that white racism was common at one time. But it is now rare.

All the cities of America with black Democratic mayors have been destroyed, while the white fled to the suburbs. Now with DEI you have unqualified black women being appointed to high offices. Some of them plagiarized the work of others shamelessly to "prove" they were qualified. The armed forces have been ruined by DEI. Major corporations have been ruined by DEI. Merit means nothing as a result. The color of your skin and your gender qualify you. Whites won't talk about all this since they will be immediate labeled "racist" and "white guilt" now prevails. The use of the "race card" has become quite common.

While I agree with most of your understanding of the state of American politics, I don't believe most of the governors in red states are RINOs, neither the state legislatures. But this is only my own belief, and the arm of federal government has reached into many states.
The problem I see with secession is mainly logistical. If you view an electoral map of of America, outside of large cities, the map is nearly totally red. How would one actually draw new boundaries? And for people who wanted to move, how quickly could infrastructure be developed to accommodate the movement? I imagine blue states desiring authoritarian rule would want to put up fences to keep people in.

The only openly racist people who I can remember were north of the Mason Dixon line. They had a problem with those who were criminals. The big cities where generational dependence upon gt welfare and unprescribed drugs is common is where most concentrations of black / white racism exists by both. I've heard far more black racists than those with lighter skin around here. In fact, I can't remember it white towards black; lots of middle class black on lower class though. Those from big cities move to my state are told that all the whites are racists kkk members, so I've been told by black city dwellers who shared that with me. I can only guess that they are painting with a wide brush, but I have seen this in some limited experience.. They are surprised to find how many greet and treat them well. They are their own worst enemy when they carry that chip on their shoulder and hate for no good reason. Case in point is what the blm brought upon themselves..

As to when it became rampant in the north was probably following the LBJ attack on their family structure as well as Christianity in general. It was an exercise in social engineering that unfortunately was very effective with lots of families and churches. Satan used that president to carry out his mission to weaken God's 2 institutions.

All the cities of America with black Democratic mayors have been destroyed, while the white fled to the suburbs. Now with DEI you have unqualified black women being appointed to high offices. The black leadership in the cities, whether political or religious, co-oped them in large part. They used the Race Card to keep power and raise money.
Again, look at the leadership of BLM and look at those city mayor's and preachers as further examples. It won't change as long as government is looked at as daddy. Gt gets all the money they want to use against the masses and control them through those preachers and money and such. It was a well crafted warfare against black families by the craft LBJ and programs. Before that, time there was no gangster rap culture, illegitimacy was rare and the strong dad's ruled the homes. I've been invited to homes like that, where there's lots of children who attended my classes and went to our integrated Baptist Church. I really miss those friends.

Wars are always for profit. The biggest profiteers besides the medical industry and energy monopolies are the government required wars that are required by the military industrial complex and those who loan the money/ banksters.

You are very blessed to have so many boys. Your quiver is certainly full of arrows. They are your family's protection. What the military industrial complex will do with gt is to try to rob you of that wealth and take your arrows and put them in their own quivers.

How many men a few years ago thought they would be paid to sleep in a parking lot around the capital at the command if the literal Jezebel who threw Republicans in her dungeon? They weren't there for the service of their country or families. The were tossed peanuts to be told how high to jump by Nancy Pelosy.
They were told that what they were there for was a war against the opposition party that just attacked their bosses worse than fighter planes over the fleets docked at Pearl Harbor.

I wish others would read what he did following the war to the Southern states. They were treated like a third world communist dictator treats the peasants. Legislation was forced upon all the states and we are but a veneer of liberty that many gave their lives for to secure much more.

We still suffer tyranny as a result of what occured, to this day.
Each state used to be independent much as any sovereign country. Since then the federal government has been a monolithic power superceding each state and totally changed the Constitutional form of gt. to one that vaguely resembles the past .

Money is only one reason wars are fought. So while all wars are about money, they aren't solely fought for money. What man intends for evil, God works for good. And while governments today are not working for the good of those being represented, it doesn't mean God isn't presently laying the groundwork for future freedom. So I never worry what men may do. God can bring a swift end to them and their evil. Already people are awakening to the evils in not only our government, but that which has taken hold of culture and society. My hope isn't in men, but God will employ men. That's what I have taught my quiver to be...arrows fitted to the bow of God.

Lincoln kept much more oppressive results from occurring. While more could have been done to help the South, he was an advocate of a quick return to normalcy.
