I just Googled it. Alcohol kills 2.5 million people per year worldwide. Marijuana ...0
I used to smoke weed in my younger days but when I got older I just lost interest in it. One less thing to spend money on

There's really no logical reason for it to be illegal.
There is no logical reason not to commit sin. However, there are severe consequences if you do. You might argue the Bible doesn't mention marijuana. Neither does the Bible mention heroin. Are you then going to argue there is nothing wrong with using heroin? If you want me to believe that the Lord tells you to use marijuana for recreation, you are wasting your time.

Part of the judgment the Lord will have us pass through is the example we are setting for those who look up to us. Someday you will have to explain to the Lord why you told younger people it's okay to use marijuana.

Only I didn't say that. In states where it's legalized it's regulated just like alcohol. You have to be 21 to purchase it. I'm not advocating that anyone uses it, I just don't think it should be illegal

Alcohol kills more people than weed kills no one (depending on someones perspective). I find it hypocritical how weed can be illegal but Alcohol isn't. Not saying both should be legal and that people should do both but it's interesting.

Should we then legalize cocaine and heroin? The Bible says it's okay to use a little alcohol, but it doesn't say it's okay to use a little marijuana, cocaine, or heroin.

That's a gray area.. how much is a little alcohol?
Theoretically if you were to legalize street drugs then it would take power away from the drug cartels it would save us a ton of money from the so-called War on Drugs. The War on Drugs is a scam that has cost taxpayers billions

So you see nothing wrong with people shooting up with heroin?

Dude, people will do drugs. Legal, or not. Drugs kill people, legal or not. That is a cold hard fact. Have you ever been to an OD case? I have. Its the saddest thing ever. One person overdosed on heroin last week actually. He died on his knees leaning over his bed, naked, blood, spit, and lung fluid pouring out of his mouth like water. I hope to God no one has to see things like that. All he had was marijuana, heroin, and 2 dollars to his name. Don't just combat drugs. Combat human misery. Get out there and help these people, instead of playing arm-chair quarterback to a situation you know absolutely nothing about. Maybe marijuana and drugs didn't do anything to you. Then again, maybe they cooked you up so bad that you now think and post like you do. Drugs kill a lot of people, good people who can bring good into this world if only they hadn't made a wrong turn. Maybe it will be up to you to lead them back.

There are consequences to sin. Consequences now and in eternity.

Ga 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

So yeah it does make a difference.

I thought it was the '20's that roared till the market crashed in '29 and the world was plunged into the great depression. Consequences of sin?

Criminalizing drugs is not a deterrent because an addict will still use. It cost 3 times more to keep an addict in jail then it does to send him to rehab. The War on Drugs is all about money. The prison industrial complex is a huge money-making business. Meanwhile it costs taxpayers billions. It's a scam

I think it ought to be legalized for many reasons:
  1. It will stop the "lacing" of it because the FDA will regulate it. People are gonna smoke it anyway, this would keep them from being poisoned.
  2. Taxation will help the economy.
  3. Would legalize hemp production, which will produce jobs & help farmers.
  4. It will put small-time drug dealers outta business.
  5. It would help cancer patients by lowering the price of medical pot.
  6. Since it would destroy small-time drug dealing & be legal to smoke, Jails & prisons would be less crowded & save govt's on operation costs.

But..... I think it won't pass because:

  1. Industrial cotton companies got it outlawed in the first place, because hemp is a stronger plant, is easier to grow, grows fast, & requires little tending, & lasts longer than cotton. This is proven by the fact in WWII, hemp production was legalized temporarily to produce rope for the Navy.
  2. Pot would bring competition to tobacco & cotton industries, so their lobbyists would pay legislators off to keep it banned.
  3. Since pot has a calming effect, pharmaceutical companies would lobby to keep it banned because it would compete with the majority of anxiety & low-end depression drugs.

I wish it would be legalized, but it won't. If Big Business has it banned in 3rd world countries, they will keep it banned here.

It's illegal and people are still doing it so I don't see how it makes that much of a difference.
Murder is illegal, but people are still doing it. I hope you wouldn't suggest legalizing murder.

As in legalize it for medical use, or in general?

Marijuana is definitely not a good thing, it causes lots and lots of negative long term effects
.... but there are many other medicines that do that as well, which are already legal, and which people abuse.

Ok lets talk about weed. When I had cancer weed was one of the things that helped cure me, weed also is good for diabetes it helps to stabilize and regulate your blood sugar it also is a stress reducer a pain reliever and studies have even shown that it helps your mental brain activity in fact scientists have already proven that weed is a natural herb that has many health benefits.

Now you have alcohol which is legal yet has caused more harm more deaths more abusive families more bar fights than anything else and alcohol has no health benefits and turns even the most polite and mature people into wild animals now does this make sense to you?
Weed helped saved my life and if it wasn't legal I would smoke it in fact weed has many many health benefits but the problem is pharmacist's would lose a butt load of money if it was legal

Theoretically if we were to end this fraudulent or on drugs then we could allocate this money to helping the addicts.
