Hillsdale College in Michigan puts out a monthly letter called 'Imprimus'.

This month's feature article was written by a 2009 graduate of Yale, who had this to say about the college:

There is clearly a radical sexual agenda at work at Yale today. Professors and administrators who came of age during the sexual revolution are busily indoctrinating students into a culture of promiscuity. In fact, Yale pioneered the hosting of a campus “Sex Week”—a festival of sleaze, porn, and debauchery, dressed up as sex education. I encountered this tawdry tradition as an undergrad, and my book documents the events of Sex Week, including the screening in classrooms of hard-core pornography and the giving of permission to sex toy manufacturers and porn production companies to market their products to students.

He refers to William F. Buckley's work called 'God and Man at Yale', which dates back to the 1950s, and show a bit of how far we've come.

Years ago, NR published an excerpt of his then forthcoming book.

It is chilling to think that is what our highest rungs of education have sunk to. I once had respect for those institutions and high esteem for those who instructed at them and graduated from them.

If they think facilitating reenactments of tribal fertility rites passes for intellectually stimulating activity, school is no longer about learning, but the meeting of elites to indoctrinate their fellow elites. Hardly something praiseworthy.

Yes.
And I think my (least) favorite part was this:

While the Yale of Buckley’s book marginalized or undermined religious faith in the classroom, my book tells of a classmate who was given approval to create an art object out of what she claimed was blood and tissue from self-induced abortions.

:( :( :(

When our oldest (homeschooled) daughter was 16, she won a National Merit Scholarship that would have meant a full ride at a place like Yale. (which speaks more to her brainiac-ness than my ability as a teacher  )
She chose not to go (though she did attend college, and graduate)
I felt we dodged a bullet there, and now I know why.

However, this influence is so pervasive it was felt by some of our kiddos at the local community college.
So we pray for all the people of their (your) generation.
The next people in power.
(but you give me great reason to hope, Ritter!)

Oh wow. That's...absolutely disgusting. Pablo Picasso and Josef Mengele all in one!

It was interesting. My professional mentor, a campaign operative with both skill and grace (a rare combination), could have taken a full-ride to Harvard and chose not to for similar reasons.

Her mother would say something similar as well, hahaha.

It is everywhere save a few safe havens. My best friend attended Allegheny College, a small liberal arts school, in Pennsylvania. The stories he would bring back were atrocious.

Licentiousness and uncertainty were the two watchwords. He had to leave, and now attends the University at Buffalo.

I'm blessed enough to attend a Christian school that is very active. Not the top on "academics" but everyone claims to be serious about academics. I think that boast is now something to be concerned about with higher ed.

Anyway. Thank you. Your prayers are very much appreciated and we'll need plenty more before our generation is the one looking to posterity.

For what its worth, you give me reason to hope as well, Psychomom.
