Hmm, so you do not see a distinct difference between the Revolutionary War and that guy in Dallas who murdered those Police Officers?

I definitely do. However, as Desdichado (my intellectual and ideological twin lol) understands, there is some overlap. Both parties felt oppressed by the powers that be and nothing was being done to neutralize their grievances. Both parties resorted to violence. The fundamental difference is that the colonies exhausted all other alternatives before entering into war with no other course of action left to consider.

I disagree with and do not accept this explanation or the logic used to reach such a conclusion. There is no acceptable comparison between the actions of vicious murderers and the actions of those who fought for Independence and to establish this Nation. You and Deshy are welcome to your particular brand of intellect, I'll pass.

Again, I would say there is only some loose overlap. It's like comparing the French colonization of North Africa with the British colonization of North America. Apples and oranges are still spherical fruit, but the similarities serve to highlight the differences.

I'm also honored that Voldemort considers me a twin. Cool!

Pardon me. I thought this photo was well known and this is why I did not give further explanation for it. It occurred when Tea Party and other right wing extremists threatened police and federal authorities in Las Vegas over tax dodger Cliven Bundy's tax evasion. Two days later two cops were killed by white supremacists. Nobody mentioned race based war back then.
