First off get out of big cities it's not enough food and water to support everyone. If hit with a EMP Bomb or if Economic Collapse millions will die in the cities in a month.
If you can find somewhere you can access land for hunting, growing food, does it have a water source and can you fish it.
A can of beans can be bought for 1.00 – Have 14 cans. This represents 14 days – You want be full on one can a day but you want be starving either.
Try to keep at least 10 gallons of extra gas – When your car gets low use this fuel and refuel them. Keep this fuel fresh.
Save some water bottles. Those thin ones are the best. After drinking water you can crush them for better storage. So blow back up with your mouth and strain found water back in them. If not sure about water source live in the sun for a couple of days and the sun will kill everything in the water.

If something would happen where all utilities, water electric, gas is shut off, people need to be prepared. Missy said about being poor and not being able to store food etc, let alone move to the country, hunt and fish. The best thing to do is have 2 weeks of nonrefridgerated food. Ramen noodles are inexpensive and has a lot of salt which is important. Apple sauce is cheap. A stick of pepperoni or summer sausage has a long shelf life. After opening keep it wrapped tight and store it in the coolest place you have, Buy the generic tuna etc from Walmart. Buy small cans of any fruit, soups, pasta. Plan what you are going to have as far as meals. Storing water takes up a lot of room. Store several gallons and if something happens fill your bathtub immediately. It holds about 40 gallons. Your hotwater tank holds a lot of water also and can be drained by a valve at it's base. When something happens the first thing people do is run to the stores and empty the shelves. The first 3 days should be ok but then people start to panic. If law enforcement is no longer available bad people will group together and start looting for any goods. Good people should group together to protect and share. If things get unsafe and you have to leave, leave in groups and stay off the roads, especially the main ones. In a group people will have different skills and ideas on how to get food, shelter and warmth. Don't forget your Bible and pray. You can search the internet for all kinds of information and select the things you might be able to do. Gather them together and print them out.
Missy, there are good commonsense steps to take, as these fine people have mentioned, but please don't worry about it too much. I could be the most prepared person on earth, and die of a bite from a rabid bat.
I'm not saying don't prepare for the future, and I do think everyone should have some food and water on hand. For ice storms and power outages, if nothing else. But give everything to God, and pray for Him to send The Holy Spirit to you.

The bible clearly states not to worry or be anxious. He will take care of us. No matter what hard times are ahead God takes care of his children. So when you hear all these stories about the One World Order, and control keep in mind that God is with you everywhere. He will never give us more than we can handle, and he will never leave us. No matter what hardships we endue in life. As long as we stay loving and faithful our reward is with Him in Heaven. So seriously, try not to read in to this stuff too much. What will happen will happen. God will take care of you

Tell that to the Christian in other nations that are being killed in his name. Not that GOD / JESUS isn't with them but bad things happen to Christian. Just look at Jesus.
Use your brain and put some food and water up. You may never get to use it yourself. Maybe you go out of town and things get so bad you can't make it back home, but that food may help another person out. Maybe Jesus is going to save other people with your food supply.

Tabernacles ( Booths)
The biblical feasts are dress rehearsals ( appointed times or divine appointment )for the return of Messiah. My pray is that this year all GOD’s children will do the dress rehearsal for Tabernacles so that we will learn and know the things needed to live for the 3 ½ years in the wilderness.

When the children of Israel left Egypt, they camped first in a place they called Sukkot ( booths). The Feast of Tabernacles and the Exodus are lessons that every generation is to make sure the one before fully understands
I Corinthians 10:11 Now these things happened to them [the children of Israel in the wilderness] as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
The second exodus will be part of the Great Tribulation and we must follow his plan for deliverance.

Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.
The people who do not understand the appointed times ( divine appointment ) will not go into the wilderness of the people and what happens to those children of GOD who do not know the signs of their times.
Revelation 12:13-17 when the dragon saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. 14 But the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. 15 And the serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, so that he might cause her to be swept away with the flood. 16 But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and drank up the river which the dragon poured out of his mouth. 17 So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Find Christian people who believe in the second exodus or believe for some reason they must go into the wilderness. There is safety in numbers.
