Obama said he'd have to think long and hard before he would let a son play football.

I agree with him!

Knowing what we now know about football and the damage done to the brain, there is absolutely NO need whatsoever to subject our youths to this traumatic and dangerous activity. Daddies and mommies who want to live through their son/daughter, need to pack their ego at the door, and put their child's health above their need to see a few hard hits.

I dont know if i agree with this. I played football all through high school and came out fine. I mean sure there is danger but there are risks inherent in every sport. And the others one are far less fun.

American football is my least favorite sport, mainly due to the physicality of it. (ouch!)
And I do think all those hits to the head can't be good for anyone.

I just wonder, though....what's my excuse? ;)

Life is full of choices. Like speeding down the road while talking on a cell phone.
Now that it seems like we are making laws to protect ourselves from ourselves where will it lead to,socialism?

I tend to think socialism would be the happiest conclusion to all of it. :(

Obviously it isn't that dangerous of an activity. However, I don't think many parents even consider the dangers at all. If I ever adopt a child I would let him play football if he wanted to but because of the dangers I would never encourage him to do it if he didn't show interest. I think that social and physical activities are important for children growing up and football accomplishes both.

I pray that he helps other young old or any age person to wish or decide to not allow his daughters or son to take the mind and brain damaging drugs that he has addmitted to and even laugh about on t.v.

It's a personal decision that shouldn't be pushed on others. ie. I think dolls are creepy and a waste of time I can share how I feel about it but not push you into getting rid of your dolls. Same could be said of football and safety. I don't have a problem with football and I can see that there can be health ramifications, but I don't pay too much attention to either. Some of my best naps have been during sports games. :p

He has a problem with a kid playing football, but doesn't have a problem with a kid
having a gay scout master?

Is there something inconsistent or strange about that?

Playing football isn't a sin.
But, being a scoutmaster is ...? :D

By the way, the handling of pig skin (as in football) is an abomination to God. Just had to throw that one in. It can get kinda silly when we bandy around scriptures willy-nilly.

Footballs are made of leather. Not pigskin.

Nothing wrong with being a scout master. And footballs are made of leather and contain no pigskin.
But training up a child in the ways of a reprobate mind IS an abomination.

I am no way supporting KCKID... but footballs are made of leather... pig leather...aka...pigskin. At least thy USED to be made from pig skin.
