The story possibly comes from the Coke manufacturers to boost their sales. Talking of which they are launching a Peach flavored Coke here The Cherry and Vanilla ones are disgusting I expect the Peach variety will be just as bad if not worse.

Unless I'm remembering wrong, the claim itself wasn't debunked. It was verified. It's just that some people misunderstood it as Pepsi products literally containing fetal cells, when they're actually used for testing the strength of the flavor.

I checked. This one was considered false. A company called Synomyx was using taste receptors created from cells derived from fetal kidney cells originally taken in 1972. Make of that what you will, I guess.
