I'm making this clear one last time, this is a discussion forum. That is what is done here. If you want a memorial, go to your Facebook page and have at it. We have moderators here for a reason. I have been here a long time and no one has ever said discussion wasn't allowed in a thread. Any thread. Because that's what we are here for. You're in the wrong place if you're not here to discuss. Discussion is not disrespect for anyone dead or alive. So again, if you want only certain comments, go over to Facebook and you can delete what doesn't agree with you.

This is a discussion board. You may want to try blogging, or somewhere where you can dictate what is being said and only your opinion counts and is heard. This place isn't it. We discuss here if there was an issue with that a moderator would have said so.
I think the Moderator allows those who are so depraved as to politicize and deficate in a Memoriam thread because their classless fallen nature knows no bounds and so as to proceed as an example to us all . That depravity clearly makes excuses for itself. Repeatedly.

Jimmy would have held such people in his prayers.

If you agree with "Jimmy's" view of gay marriage, you've not read the Word. The rest of your childish screed is beneath me to answer. It's a pity that some are not able to have their POV challenged without spitting hateful rhetoric. Please don't speak to the unsaved, you use the Word as a weapon. You too have missed the whole point of the Gospel. If I weren't saved, you would have just made me hate Christians.

Right, the same could be said of pastors. Or teachers, nurses or doctors.
I just wonder what he is really objecting to. The word "club"??? Because the presidency really is fairly exclusive.

In all the years of American history (248), only 45 different people have been or are currently serving as president.

While we discuss back and forth about how we feel about presidents it is an exclusive club. It's got to be a daunting job. So many things to distract, so many things that could go wrong. And so many responsibilities. It's a wonder wants the job at all.

The population of the United States was estimated to be 2.5-3 million in July 1776 when the country was newly independent.
In 2020, the population was more than 130 times larger, at an estimated 331 million people. If you add up all the people born
in the last 220 years, plus the number who have immigrated in that time, you get 545 million of which 472M were born here
and 73M immigrated. Well, those numbers could be a little off, especially since there is so much illegal immigration, but the
fact remains that 45 is a very small number juxtaposed against the total number of people. (According to a general search.)

The level of disrespect and depravity for a memorium thread speaks to the level of depravity in the spirit of the individual.

Likely it is hoped I'll ask that this thread be closed. Instead I think it should remain open so that those in Christ may witness where we would be were it not for God's grace.

Rest in peace President Carter.
Yeah Jimmy Carter was a good man. He did a lot of charity work after he was president. Like building habitat for humanity houses. These people here think anyone who even slightly differs from their views is satanic and evil and all that stupid stuff

Disappointed in you Dude. You've known me here a long time. We've agreed and disagreed but I have often asked you how things are going with you personally, especially when I knew you were going through a hard time. Do I not? Please show me where I said Carter was satanic or evil? Yes, he did good works, but that gets no one into heaven. No where did I say this man went to hell, was evil or satanic. And after what Cranberry, who is angry because I called them out on their reformed/Calvinist belief and they couldn't refute me, said such nasty and childish things, you agree with their POV. Disappointed, truly.

The gray orange one once again showing his complete lack of professional decorum and human decency
not really. mr. carter will have been passed away over 3 weeks by inauguration day, so it is not unreasonable to want the flag flying high when he is sworn in.

and if was you, you would want the same thing!:D

No because I don't have narcissistic personality disorder and I understand that the flag represents all Americans and not just me
