I'm not sure if you're including me in your sentiments but the truth is I'm saddened when people profess beliefs contrary to Jesus Crucified and Resurrected. Jesus is very clear:

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but through me."
Well put. I think people are missing the point here. Prince was beloved by many and sold millions of records. He influenced others, as celebrities often do. What troubles believers is that the influence is often so negative as Utah mentions. To me, the early recordings of Prince were all about sex. Teens felt Prince was encouraging a promiscuous lifestyle. Not just Prince, but almost all pop stars were selling the notion of having sex to satisfy your desires. And they were wildly successful in convincing young men and women, boys and girls, that it was acceptable behavior. That is why Christians do not celebrate the life of Prince.

I will. Thank you. I've been out of town for the last five days and did not get caught up here.
The video she posted is before 2001 (its from' 85)which is when he converted to a cult. I told her that . I also mentioned the posts days ago about him coming out of SDA and going to JW. Maybe she missed them? ...............................

Here Prince performs a song in which he makes his false knowledge known that someone lied about the cross ! He bases his false revelation on the word "stauros" in the greek stating it actually means "stake" Which btw is the "revelation" I spoke of a few days ago. It is sad that satan convinced another soul . How a person could have a quandry over the cross idk. History denotes that the romans crucified criminals on crosses..................

I have a friend who has witnessed and been involved with 100's if not 1000's of conversions to Christianity. He told me that of all those people he has never seen a JW convert to Christianity.

The Trinity is a way of explaining God. Since Jesus Christ is included in the Trinity, why would someone believe the Trinity doctrine but deny Christ's redeeming blood?

That is because they are convinced they are the only true followers hence the name. Its a sad fact but a true fact: It is easier to witness to one who isnt involved in a cult. LDS are also convinced they are the true followers. So are scientologist! There is an obvsious thread running through all cults. They have the "divine revelation".
Satan hasnt changed up characteristics of cults much. They all deny the deity and most are works righteous

I wasn't but here's the thing about that argument. What "through me" actually means is quite up in the air. I mean you MUST accept Jesus but there's so many technicalities that people follow that Jesus never mentions. You don't even have to believe in the Bible and you can still be saved. I bet MOST of the people Jesus saved and preached to never read a word of the OT from the time He preached to them to the time they died. So what exactly does "through me" mean? Does it mean that you have to believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Does it mean that you have to believe that He is your Savior? Does it mean something altogether, seeing as how it even talks about preachers being burned? Do we even know that the last chance to accept Jesus is BEFORE we die? Or is this just ANOTHER thing that's assumed in American McChristianity? Idk, it's kinda hard for me to see Jesus tell Prince, "Hey man...look, I know that you believed in me and loved me and followed my teachings....but...you didn't believe ALL of the correct things about me so you gotta go to Hell, sorry bud...You too, Pentecostals, You too, Methodists...You too, Mormons... You too, Catholics... Well Baptists, that just leaves yall, come on in."

There's a really good reason for that. About a good 30-40% of a Witness' time is spent being taught scripturally (from an edited Bible) why other religions are wrong (including Christianity).

Even if a JW finally sees the holes in the religion, they are so instilled with the idea of all other religions being false that there is no where to turn but Atheism every single time. I have only met one other former JW who converted to Christianity in my life (besides my mother). There's quite a few on the internet under specific websites but not as many as you would think.

You said it yourself, my Brother, you must accept Jesus. Technicalities have nothing to do with it and may we always thank God for that. Yet be that as it may, salvation is given to us through no other name. All faiths, beliefs, religions and practices that lead people astray from Jesus are wrong, period.

I pray "through Me" may mean some people can actually be saved through Jesus without having faith in Him. Case in point are people who die without ever hearing of Jesus, thus never denying His divinity, or non-believers who literally give their lives in order to save others. May God be merciful to such people in the Name of Jesus. I understand the latter seems like a works-based faith which I discount completely.

One thing that really ticked me off about Prince was when he borrowed a vintage guitar from Jimmy Fallons guitar player and when the song was over he chucked it across the stage and broke it. He apparently saw it during taping and asked the dude if he could play it. After the taping, the guitarist asked Prince if he would sign it for him and Prince said...."nope". The guy was a total weirdo and didn't care about anyone but himself and his own ego. I probably would have punched him in the face if he did that to me.

JW worship ANOTHER SPIRIT.
Your diatribe is insanity! INSANITY! JW dont believe that Jesus is GOD.
Read John 8:24

What part of that do you not get? Are you sure you are reborn in Christ? I ask because your reasoning appears to allow for anyone who believes anything even if its contrary to Gods Word to be saved and that is not scriptural.

Earlier today I watched the SNL tribute to Prince that aired Saturday night. A couple things stood out. In one performance Prince made on the show, you watched him playing a keyboard during the beginning of a song, while a female sang. Then he picked up his guitar and began playing it for about ten seconds before he realized it wasn't plugged in. He actually did a good job hiding that as he reached down and plugged it in.

At the end of the tribute show, there was the usual scene on the stage where the cast and host and musical guest all stand together and hug and celebrate a successful show. Steve Martin was the host and Prince was the musical guest. Within a few seconds, for some unknown reason, Prince walks off the stage. One of the cast members is seen calling out to Prince. Steve Martin looks visibly upset at the prima donna for being so disrespectful. Yet, as we are beginning to hear from his associates, he was very shy and that was the reason they gave for his drug use that lasted over 30 years. It seemed to help him handle the stage fright.

Still tho....I'm not an overly outgoing person and some social circumstance make me uncomfortable. That doesn't hinder my ability to have respect for people. He chucked a guys baby across the stage and then was a jerk about it.

See guys, this is the McChristianity fast-food religion that I'm talking about. Because the JWs don't believe in a Trinity (which Jesus never said you had to), it is...

!!!INSANITY!!!

What about the spirits in Hell that Jesus preached to after he was crucified? Did they not live a life that didn't include Jesus? Hm.

Lol oh my gosh I love it when people question whether other people are even saved when they disagree with them. Perhaps I'm not reborn? I mean, I'm in an interracial marriage after all. I know Jesus doesn't really say anything about it...but...He doesn't say that you're going to hell if you don't believe in a Trinity either....and yet you believe this.

I do believe in a Trinity, but to fault people who aren't capable of understanding the Trinity in scripture doesn't seem like something Jesus would burn someone eternally for. You sure you're not Muslim?

And what spirit do JWs worship? I'll tell you. They worship the Father of the Trinity and nothing else. They consider the Father to be the only God (YHWH, Jehovah). They believe in Jesus. They believe Jesus saved them. They just have the false believe that Jesus is Michael the Archangel and not part of the Holy Trinity.

Doesn't sound like a different spirit to me. Sounds more like confusion and ignorance.

And I merely posed questions to prove that you aren't as sure about things as you think you are. They aren't my beliefs. My beliefs are mine and you have no right to judge them or to question my salvation. How dare you. Do you know what that can spiritually do to someone not experienced in God? What kind of confusion and spiritual turmoil that can cause to someone who is already in Christ but still green in their faith? You have an intense spirit of anger and condemnation following you (figurative spirit or literal spirit idk which) that you really need to shake bud. It's going to eat you alive. If you constantly sow in flames, you are just going to reap ashes.

Oh I am sure! I am 100% sure I base what I believe on FACTS.

The JW deny that Jesus is God and Son of God. Jehovah's Witnesses believe that He was the first natural son whom Jehovah brought forth and that He is Michael, the archangel, in human form .

The trinity is NOT THE ONLY THING that they differ on!!.

I gave you the scripture but I guess you were too busy bringing up a stupid picture to look into the bible. The BIBLE is the truth. It is what reborn again christians use as our every truth! We form our opinions that line up with the Living Word because the word is renewing our minds.

You are very confused and it appears you are here to stand up for a CULT. You not only do not know about the JW religion in which you said you were once a part of but it appears you do not know why JW cannot EVER be saved believing in what they believe!
John 8:24

I posted the scripture once again for you. This time before you embarrass yourself, go read it and do a study so you dont put your foot in your mouth again.ILL ALSO POST A REFRESHER COURSE for you here so you will learn and you will not continue to speak out lies. JW worship a Jesus they have made up in their own minds. They worship another spirit!!!! They worship SATAN.
They are not reborn again in Christ. They are a CULT. The deny the deity of Christ.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe:

  • God's name is Jehovah.
  • Only Jehovah existed from "everlasting to everlasting.
  • Jesus is not one with God.
  • The Holy Spirit it not part of a triune God, He is simply the "force" of God.
  • God was once alone in the universe.
  • Satan originated the doctrine of the trinity.
Regarding Jesus, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that He was the first natural son whom Jehovah brought forth and that He is Michael, the archangel, in human form. Jesus is believed to have been anointed at His baptism and then is said to have proved His devotion to God by submitting to a horrifying death on a torture stake. Jehovah"s Witnesses do not believe that He was raised from the dead.

Nor do Jehovah's Witnesses believe in Hell. Unfortunately for them, this lack of belief does not erase Hell"s existence. They believe that after death, unless they are found to be worthy of eternal life, they will simply remain in the grave, inactive, unconscious and entirely dead.

In order to accept the theologies of the Jehovah's Witnesses, you have to overlook and completely discount a myriad of Scripture passages. For some study on Hell, read Matthew 5:22-30, 10:28, 18:9; Luke 12:5, 16:23; 2 Peter 2:5 and Revelation 20:10. Hell is very real. It is as real as Heaven! You cannot believe in part of God's Word and then reject the other parts because they make you feel uncomfortable.

Also, Jesus Christ is clearly God's Son and is fully God, who came to earth as a man to redeem mankind from the penalty of sin. John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one an only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." There is no question about the deity of Christ!

Lastly, no person will remain in the grave after death. Hebrews 9:27 says, "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." We will all die; we will all be judged. Each individual must determine for himself whom he will serve, thus determining his eternal destiny.

The beliefs of the jehovah witness are those that deny the deity of Christ . That alone qualifies them as a cult! They are not reborn in Christ. They are bound for eternal hell! THAT is a BIG DEAL

Since you are green in your faith you need to do as scripture states and listen more than you talk because you have very little knowledge.

I get what were saying bro. I think the tinman is simply saying that JW is not a denomination (it's not the same as "Pentecostal" or "Baptist" or "Lutheran")--it's something entirely different (a cult).

If you had simply left out "JW" from that post then he would not be able to attack you in this manner.

...Although he may have jumped on "Mormons" at that point... but then I would have argued with him...

:)
