Putin has made this invasion in Ukraine all about the US dollar.

Biden thinks he can earn credibility by publicizing Russia's successful annexation of Ukraine. Hilarious.

Tell me again that there are people who actually believe Biden is a real president.

On our news tonight they said that there are possible peace talks between Russian and Ukraine and both parties seem to be happy to do so. Lets see if this is true and if this conflict is over.

Let's hope so. I won't be thanking NATO or the west!

Some Russian millionaire on sixty minutes last night has offered a reward of one million dollars to anyone who shoots Putin or to his military who could capture him and turn him in. I wonder if anyone will try??

Sixty Minutes should face criminal charges for airing that, but they won't.

Didn't you know that when the media incites violence it's called free speech? When individuals incite violence it's illegal. Just remember the tried and true moto of the USA's two-tiered justice system and you'll be fine: "Rules for thee but not for me."

I think I misquoted. I think it's just for his arrest. I really need to double check.

I might add to this: the biggest difference between large media conglomerations and individuals is that they have the money to defend their right to free speech almost indefinitely in court. Individuals typically don't have the money to defend themselves. If you have money in the USA you can purchase full access to your rights.

The EMP will be a nuclear weapons blast. It would be interesting to see if this was considered an act of war. If I had to decide, I'd say yes. Russia would be foolish to bring the wrath of the world on its head. However, Putin has not shown a great deal of sense or restraint in the war so far.

It is relatively easy to protect electronics against EMP. I know because I sold those products and did a fair bit of training on them. Military equipment is generally hardened to protect it. There will be a lot of disruption to commerce and industry.

So you would sit back and let China invade Taiwan? How about North Korea invade South Korea? While you're at it, throw Israel to the wolves. Let Iran have its nukes. Who are we to say psychos have no right to weapons of mass destruction?

If you are in a hurry to start WW3, you are on the right track. Sanctions have been somewhat effective in the past. If every tin pot dictator thinks he can invade another country for no reason, with no consequences, you can say goodby to modern civilisation.
The issue isn't that all electronics will be fried or even military electronics will be fried. The issue is everywhere you turn things will be fried. So maybe 10% of phones will work, but 90% won't. Think about that? Maybe 5% of cars will work but 95% won't! Maybe a few water pumps here and there will work but the majority don't and as a result total chaos in the cities. Sure the nuclear power plants maybe hardened, the military bases may be hardened, but the majority around the country aren't and you would have total chaos. How are you going to repair and fix these things when in a single day you have so many get fried?

What is the point of hardening your house if the cities power goes out? What is the point of hardening your car if most gas stations go out, most trucks delivering fuel are fried as well.

Face Book does allow threats of violence to be made against selected Russians.

It is the major infrastructure that will be best protected. I suspect that the bigger threat is to the satellites that the military relies on. But that works both ways. Russian satellites can be taken out also. And Russia could be hit with an EMP as well. No one really wins a war these days. Russia will be bankrupted by this war. Military hardware and personnel are a cost to the economy with little benefit. It keeps defence industry afloat but that's it. That's why nations are so keen to sell their weapons overseas.

Putin is a very smart man. He's watched Europe reduce its defence budget over and over again. He's taking advantage of that weakness. Whatever you think about Donald Trump, he was right when he criticised Europe for neglecting defence. I think that he miscalculated Ukraine's resolve to fight. I doubt that anyone dared to criticise his invasion plan. That's the problem with despots. They begin to think that they are infallible.

Yes, the EMP will simply cause chaos among 80% of the country
