is the idea that we would approve of a chemical lobotomy for the TeaPartiers or Westboro Baptists?
i know no one actually believes that (with the possible exception of Naughty)

because that's what this is actually about.
they've been doing it all along...they used to just use ECT or an ice pick.
they're just getting more techy.

everyone MUST be completely predictable, and without any ideas.
no individual thoughts. one collective unit, eventually unable to think for themselves (unless authorized to do so).

Mao said he feared nothing but a man with an idea.

I am republican, and even I can't stand the TEA party. Those people scare me. I am talking Nightmare on Conservative Street, running around with a chainsaw on Halloween SCARY!

Ever gone to a TEA Party meeting? I ended up in one on accident once(seriously). After about 30 minutes the bf and I did olympic record for the door.

BTW, if you are a TEA Partier(and you just might be).. I still stand by my statement :D
I don't understand what is so scary about the Tea Party. It really isn't much different from the Republican platform. They just stick to it a little better than most Republicans.

The irony is, the actual 'fundamentalists' aren't a bad lot. They also aren't very popular, because they hold beliefs that are considered 'left wing'. As they follow the gospels as well as the old testament. So Social Conservatives tend to despise the actual fundamentalists. What is referred to as a 'Fundie' today is actual those hypocritical Christians that cherry pick sections of the bible in order to push their social conservative agendas. Well, it's not even social conservatives as such. Real Conservatives are nice, it's these weird ones that want to arm children in kindergarden and westboro baptist who want to picket the funerals of soldiers. They are radical right wingers, that give both fundamentalists and social conservatives a bad name.

Labels are confusing these days. Liberals aren't liberal.....republicans aren't republican....and democrats only believe in democracy when people agree with them....lol

Yes! Agreed. I preferred to judge people on what they do, not what they intended to do.

Call me old fashion in that regard.

How did the Communists of the Soviet Union establish an orthodoxy?

Simple, if a citizen did not agree with the regime's materialistic ontology, eschatology, and pseudoscience springing from that, they were considered "crazy."

The totalitarian impulse is still alive and well.
