So you do the same thing?
Btw. I had a convo with a
friend yesterday and she was saying she votes for a person just because she recognizes their name. At least with me I evaluate both candidates and very seldom do I vote that way
This is probably very common.
This is exactly how you market any consumer product... it's called "brand recognition".
In fact, you often hear this among political analysts.
I don't know how many times I've heard them say "Hillary has tarnished her brand."
It's pretty common for people to make important decisions for silly reasons.
In marketing, virtually everything is sold by appealing to emotions, or preconceptions, or brand recognition... rather than discussing the REAL properties of the product itself.
Purchasing a product is usually an EMOTIONAL decision.
And, to the political strategists... the candidate is just a "product" they are selling.
So... of course people react to candidates the way we do.
That's how the candidates are presented.
That's what the strategists are COUNTING ON.
It's all weird and twisted...
but its not mysterious.
And if you do some research on the candidates, even at a cursory level... that's way more than most do.
