Show me where scripture points to Satan being given dominion. View attachment 209297
Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."
Matthew 4:8-9

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
Ephesians 2:1-2

7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for [b]them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:7-12

Sure, he runs this world system but he does it by deception. God gave the dominion over all the earth to mankind (see Gen. 1:26). God has not rescinded that dominion and will hold us accountable when He comes back.

Satan rules by transmitting thoughts (see Eph. 2:2) to world leaders and other powerful people to control things. They think the thoughts, or ideas, are theirs. So they become unwitting followers of the devil. Christians have the knowledge and power to resist those thoughts, called fiery darts (see Eph. 6:16). :)

I agree with you that God controls all since he created it. God gave power and domain to wicked Kings of Judea and Israel. He also also allows ungodly nations to exert power and authority(North Korea is a prime example). Make no mistake, Satan is the god of this world until it is taken from him for Gods glory and righteousness. The scripture I provided alludes to him having dominion. How could he say to Jesus that he would give him of the Kingdoms of the world if they were not under his rule? I know it’s repulsive to think, but it’s reality for now.

Yeah well, without arguing the finer points of the English language: You can call what Satan has as dominion. Not that he has been given it, he just takes it. Still, God holds mankind responsible for world affairs. God knows full well that we will go the wrong way and have to be rescued from ourselves. It is in prophecy, after all. 2cool.gif

All we can do is be on our guard and ask God for protection, perseverance, and wisdom. All this must be done through prayer.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

and prayer is conversation with the Father, in Jesus name, our mediator.
that conversation is a two way street, we are to listewn at least as much as we speak, and then walk out what He gives us to do, since man was given dominion, He works through us.

Acknowledgment of how He is unfolding His plan to redeem mankind to Him for eternity is a good thing, come quickly Lord Jesus.
That may be what is happening as we are here in the last of the last days.
We know there will be no excuse for those who heard and did not respond.

Satan is a liar...
If satan had lied Jesus would have called him out on that lie.. But Jesus just refused satans temptation.. If satans offer was false it would not have been a real temptation for Jesus to refuse..

Hello Adstar :) My statement was made as a general observation, which is certainly a fact: Satan is a liar. Also, are you sure Jesus would have done what you claim? Jesus' responses to Satan in all three instances came directly from the revealed written Word of God, more specifically, Deuteronomy :)

2 Cor 4:4

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News.

Well, it's an age old story for the Jews. They have been hated since God chose them. And unfortunately it will get worse. As our pastor said yesterday, I'm not positive about the world, but I am positive about the future. The world will get worse. And the headlines are following that pattern.
the future holds Ezekiel 38-39.
Russia, Turkey, Iran & others will in a coalition try to invade & spoil Israel, while the rest of the world makes a show of objecting but does nothing to intervene.

Antisemitism is on the rise. With people like Omar in office supporting the BDS movement and her squad why would anyone be surprised? Any thoughts?
Antisemitism has a long history in both *Christian* Europe and the Muslim Middle East. So it is not exactly new. Under Barack Obama, it gained a new impetus, and yet the blind Leftist American Jews supported the Democrats and continue to do so. These same Leftists are in the vanguard of attacking Trump. Schiff, Nadler, Bloomberg, Zuckerberg, Zucker, Sanders, and a whole bunch of Hollywood celebrities etc. are all Leftist Jews who hate the fact that the majority of Israelis love Trump.

Indeed many of them hate Israel and would rather side with Radical Muslims in the destruction of Israel than support Israel against Hamas and Hezbollah. So today you have Antisemitism in both the Western world and the Muslim world, and even among Western Jews. Indeed George Soros is a Hungarian Jew who is an ex-Nazi and supports the extreme Leftists and Anarchists in America, and funds their campaigns. There were many Jews who chose to become Nazis and destroy their own people.

Another factor which complicates this issue is that within Israel, there are both genuine Israelites and non-Israelites (whose ancestors were either forced to convert to Judaism, or who converted to Judaism even though they were ethnically different). There are many who rail against these Jewish *non-Jews*. (Herod the Great was an Idumean, and the Idumeans (Edomites) were forcibly converted to Judaism under the Hasmoneans.)

Add to that the bias of the United Nations and the European Union, and the desire of the Western Europeans to do business with Iran (in spite of all the sanctions). Thus Israel is more or less isolated, and if it were not for Donald Trump, even American foreign policy would be supporting the destruction of Israel. In fact the billions of dollars which Obama gave to Iran's evil leaders were meant to do exactly that.

The Bible claims Jesus resisted the temptation of satan.. It's not my claim.. Read it yourself in the account..
Did Jesus turn the rocks into a loaf of bread? No..
Did Jesus cast himself off the top of the temple? No..
Did Jesus accept satans offer and become a emperor of all the kingdoms of this world? No..

So it is not a claim of what Jesus would have done.. It is what Jesus actually did..

The only way i would be unsure is if i was unsure if the Bible was the accurate Word of God.. and i am not in that camp of churchianity :)

Right it was what he actually did.

I think you need to reassess why it would be necessary to point him out to be a liar directly in this instance when it was done indirectly. As well as being stated directly later on when teaching others.

I've heard enough debate about each of the temptations to know that it happened that way for a reason. I think you drawing out that it was true that he had the power to give those things to him is quite a claim. Someone doesn't need to really be able to offer us something for us to be tempted into accepting.

I don't believe @Magenta is claiming that it didn't happen, merely challenging your assertion based off what did occur. I gather that since it was stated later his views on the enemy that doesn't mean he (the enemy) was telling the truth here and making that claim opens up a potential quagmire.

A loose claim could be made that he was telling the truth from a ben kenobi "...from a certain point of view" but that again opens up potential pitfalls.

Even the read of the NASB Mt 4:7 could be construed this way while the KJV does not present this vagary. No, I'm not a KJV onlyist btw, just that in certain passages it is important to check other translations.

I say all that because I've read these temptations many different ways in many times in my life and each time I learn something different as my own faith is refined. Even thinking about the stones into bread went MUCH further this time so I do at least appreciate the revisitation. I can't go deep into it at present, I'm just throwing this out there because your conditional statement is not within defined boundaries. If you care to start a thread and define those boundaries, perhaps more could be said.

What? You have misunderstood. Your original claim was to my saying Satan was liar by asserting that Jesus would have said so if he was. Well, He did not in any of the three temptations, Jesus quoted Deuteronomy, as I said. Gosh, you thought I was saying Jesus did not resist Satan? Flabbergast :censored:

Thank you, Mii :) Yeah, I was simply saying that Satan is a liar and Jesus did not explicitly say so at the time... He quoted Deuteronomy :D He certainly did proclaim that judgment at other times :D

It aint all that bad, French people have done some great things. Like that one time in history when all the french invaded the woods north of the USA. That place is now called "Canada"

Canada is an interesting entity, their entire existance is contingent on not doing something the USA doesn't like. They have a leaf for a flag and a ski instructor drama teacher for a prime minister who dances around in foreign countries. YOU CANT WRITE THIS.

Thats one of my hobbies, making jokes about canada, BUT DONT WORRY; I know some Canadians on this forum and I love you DEARLY, Nehemiah comes to mind, Angela comes to mind, I love all of y'all <3
Shhh. Nobody knows we are here. We like it this way. On most maps, north of Washington, it says, "Here there be dragons". Did you watch "Independence Day"? Everywhere else got attacked but even the aliens couldn't find us. Honest. There is nothing but snow, barren wastelands. Yes, that's the ticket.
