This bill is about to pass to take parents out of medical decision making,
ALLOW CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS 11 TO CONSENT TO TAKING VACINES WITHOUT PARENTAL KNOWLEDGE

DC Bill 23-171
Act Now: Stop Bill that Removes Parents from Medical Decision-making (this link takes you to a homeschooling website, scroll down to "updates to find the full article or click this to go right to the article)
Dear Members and Friends:

The District of Columbia City Council passed a bill (B23-0171) that allows children as young as 11 years old to consent to vaccinations without their parent’s knowledge, even if the parent has already declined the vaccine for medical or religious reasons.

The bill goes further and requires the vaccine provider and the child’s school to conceal from the parent that the child was vaccinated, specifically preventing an insurer from sending an explanation of benefits listing the vaccination.

By undermining parental liberty, this bill sets a dangerous precedent that could be replicated across the nation. The notion that 11-year-old children must be enabled to make decisions contrary to the wishes of their loving parents has grave consequences for both the well-being of children and individual freedom. And these consequences extend far beyond the limited area of vaccinations.

Help protect the right of loving parents to choose what's best for their children.

COURTS: PARENTS KNOW BEST
The US Supreme Court has repeatedly held that parents have a right and responsibility—prior to that of the government—to make decisions concerning their child’s care. The court stated so eloquently in Pierce v Society of Sisters that the “child is not the mere creature of the State; those who nurture him and direct his destiny have the right, coupled with the high duty, to recognize and prepare him for additional obligations.”

And later, in Parham v J.R., the court opined what parents everywhere know—that “most children, even in adolescence, simply are not able to make sound judgments concerning many decisions, including their need for medical care or treatment. Parents can and must make those judgments.”

Yet, this bill would undermine the concerns of loving parents by permitting young children to make certain, potentially life-altering medical decisions, and then concealing these decisions from parents.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
This bill (DC 23-171) was passed by the DC City Council last year and transmitted to Congress on February 1, 2021. It will become law in the District unless Congress passes a veto resolution in the next 30 legislative days (around March 19, 2021).

Unique to DC, legislative acts must be sent to both the United States Senate and House of Representatives for review prior to becoming law. During this review period, Congress may enact a joint resolution disapproving of the bill. If the joint resolution does not pass within 30 legislative days, the bill officially becomes law.

So time is running out to stop this bill from becoming law, but you still have the opportunity to make a difference.

Congressman Michael Cloud and Senator Mike Lee have introduced the required veto resolutions, SJRes. 7 and HJRes. 25.

To stop this attack on parental liberty and children’s health, these resolutions need to pass. And that is where you come in.

Please go here to contact your representative and senators today and ask them to support the joint resolutions to veto DC Bill 23-171.

Thank you for standing with us for liberty!

So they can't prevent their children from being vaccinated if the children want to be vaccinated?
Not seeing the problem here

That would mean parents would also be unable to prevent a child from taking hormone replacement drugs. Or having an abortion. Or refusing chemo or surgery. You okay with that, too?

Science says the frontal cortex in the human brain isn't fully developed until age 25. Until then, they don't have the full ability for problem solving, much less deciding what to inject in their bodies. That's why we, as parents, need to be in charge of their health. Otherwise you have doctors using fear tactics to convince kids to take the jab. Or kids who need surgery refusing to be operated on because they're too afraid.

On the hormone therapy I think it should wait till the child is 18 and then he can make that decision for himself
I'm on the fence about the chemo thing
Well if he has terminal cancerand doesn't want to live out his last days sick from chemo
Ask for the abortion thing since a child can't get a job then they need to be prepared to financial support the baby
Ask for vaccines, anti-axis shouldn't have children in the first place

maybe the law is designed so children that dont have parents, can be cared for as well.

Just seeing it from another perspective. Vaccines are good thing. Its a messed up world who thinks they are not and want their children to not have any immunity.
