A new advertisement for the telecommunication company Airtel has got many users on Twitter with their knickers in a bunch, debating whether the campaign enforces stereotypes, breaks established family roles, is a modern twist to same old misogynist propaganda or just neo feminism riding on compromise.

A woman is shown firmly setting a work deadline to a man in the opening scene of the ad. He quietly proceeds to finish the job after a mild protest, working late into the night while the woman, presumably his boss, leaves for home. She proceeds to call up her husband - the man from the office - and coaxes him to come home - tempting him with a four course meal she cooks for him.

A woman who is her husband's boss at work but still cooks for him at home? New telecom ad stirs up Twitter outrage and wit - IBNLive

Here's the ad

I want to know what y'all think of it. I thought the ad was kinda sweetly annoying. I actually felt sorry for the guy who has to work with such a mean demanding boss, who then later taunts him with good food. Much ado about nothing.

People probably read too much in such ads anyway. But your opinions please:) Would appreciate it.

Just watched the ad. I think I agree with your notion that it seems "Sweetly annoying" more than it being outrageous or offensive lol.

I would never want to work for or over a spouse.
Maybe along side in a family business but never for or over.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like working for a spouse would be a good idea.

I'll go with sweetly annoying also. I'm not surprised that people are "outraged" though. EVERYTHING causes people to be outraged nowadays.

If people would stop dousing themselves with sanitizers every 5 minutes...they might not be so think skinned...like slugs...

The companies that create ads, and the companies that use those ads,
do NOT have social or political objectives.

They only have ONE objective, and that is to make money.

A controversial ad gets MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF FREE EXPOSURE...
when we make a big fuss and post their ad everywhere, THEY WIN.
