There are situations when the police are clearly in the wrong like that guy who got shot in the back over a traffic violation but when you refuse to comply with simple instructions then this unnecessarily escalates the situation
I would like to suggest that you take a Friday or Saturday night ride with a policeman that patrols the streets of any gang infested area, or that patrols some of the back roads of many rural counties.

Hello Willie-T! I watched the video you posted on the chat. Wow! That is scary what the police have to go through. However, my question is, wouldn't a taser deliver a similar result in rendering a suspect harmless? B/c the problem that happens is if police were to use their guns all the time in these scenarios, they are not building the trust they need with the community. Community members would always see them as people who are there to cause harm, even with this video or this training exercise.

Awhile back, I also posted videos showing many instances where a Taser did nothing at all to stop the assailant... sometimes just made him madder. If the darts don't get into the skin because of a belt or a jacket or a leather vest, the perp feels nothing at all. It's like he was never Tased.

In just about EVERY case, all that is required is to shut up, and do EXACTLY what you are told to do. Both Black and Redneck pride often get in the way of that possibility.

Many law enforcement manager will not issue tazers to officers because they feel it is too much of a liability. Maybe county and city attorneys tell them this. I don't know what goes through their head. Often times officers are left with no other weapon but a gun and pepper spray because of department policy. By the way, pepper spray is nearly useless. We lost the PR-24 because the news media only showed 30 seconds of an 18 minute video from L.A. once. They replaced it with an ASP which is a weapon I just assume use a Motorola portable to hit someone instead.
