The Center for Research in Crime and Justice at New York University show that eighty percent of violent crimes involve an attacker and victim of the same race. This is substantiated by FBI homicide statistics. Black males are the number one demographic, per capita, for homicide in the U.S. AND blacks overall are the number one demographic for homicide victims, per capita, in the U.S.. Blacks kill blacks at a much greater rate, per capita, than any other demographic. In fact, more than half of ALL homicides in the U.S. are perpetuated by blacks with almost all of those perpetuators black males despite blacks comprising just over about 12% of the U.S. population.
Here's the 2010 Expanded Homicide Data Table:
FBI — Expanded Homicide Data Table 3
That said, if we divide each population by the number of crimes committed by individuals in that population, we see that the rate of black-perpetrated hate crimes against whites is approximately 1.6 times higher than the rate of white-perpetrated hate crimes against blacks.
What is clear to me is that liberal policies have created very dangerous communities out of once safe communities for both the residents who live in them and the police who patrol them.
People like yourself David voted for liberal politicians who have indebted their states, counties, and cities (indeed the entire country) to transform once safe working blue collar Christian and Catholic neighborhoods into secularized urban war zones dominated by welfare, drugs, fatherless households, and street gangs.
So now police agencies struggle to police blighted areas populated by poor performing, largely unsocialized, dysfunctional, often fatherless, and often criminal people. The decline of the U.S. is a historical tragedy that continues.
Locally, St Louis and surrounding areas have a largely fatherless gang-oriented youth culture that engages in all of the usual gang behaviors (e.g. crime, drugs, fornication, violence, etc...). Here's the police description of the event:
"St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar gave the first details from his department’s investigation into the fatal shooting Saturday of 18-year-old Mike Brown by an unidentified Ferguson police officer outside the Canfield Green Apartment complex. At a news conference on Sunday at the Ferguson fire station, Belmar said the police officer was attacked by two individuals.
'One of those individuals, at the time, came in as the officer was exiting his car, allegedly pushed the police officer back in the car, where he physically assaulted the police officer. It is our understanding at this point in the investigation that within the police car there was a struggle over the police officer’s weapon,' Belmar said. Belmar said the officer’s gun was fired at least once inside the police car, but the officer shot and killed Brown outside of the vehicle. Belmar said the number of shots fired was 'more than a few.'
When pressed on whether Brown was fleeing at the time of those shots, Belmar demurred. 'I’m not going to be able to get into any of those types of questions,' said Belmar. 'I haven’t had the opportunity even in fact yet to sit down with the prosecuting attorney’s office. I don’t want to do anything that would ever prejudice this case on either side of it.'
The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation. According to Belmar, the man has been with the Ferguson Police for six years and has had 'no issues.'”

The police assert the 18-year-old male pushed the officer back into the cruiser where the suspect allegedly assaulted the officer while the two struggled over his gun. At least one shot was fired inside the vehicle before the officer allegedly fired multiple shots outside the vehicle, killing the suspect.
Eyewitness accounts vary widely from the police account but also each other. This is a good example of one:
Michael Brown Shooting Witness Tells the Story -- NYMag
As you can see, there's a real difference between the two accounts.
But what isn't up for debate is the same wild behavior the police describe the suspect using that led to his death is the same wild behavior we see displayed by his peers afterwards:
All the usual suspects exhibiting all the usual behaviors:

^ Not a shred of common sense, morality, socialization, or civility in the entire lot.
In a functional, socialized, civilized community whose members shared a genuine commitment to living out the Christian worldview: this would NOT have happened.
Any of it.
Michael Brown would have respectfully dialogued with a dedicated officer unhardened by six years of policing ferality whose feral denizens wouldn't have then taken to rioting and looting the very innocent store owners that pay for their welfare.
Everyone in this story's guilty David including you as a liberal voter that created the society it could occur in. So don't try to pass your two cents of the buck.
