Today's lifestyle of not preparing for a rainy day has come about in my lifetime.
People used to have gardens. They would can food for the future.
Often they would buy fruits and vegetables from farmers to can if they did not have a garden.
They always prepared enough for the year crops were short.
Today people rely of a system designed and run by men. Not for the welfare of the people, but to gain wealth.
Many who say they rely on God to provide are really relying of this man made system that may very well collapse any day now.
I trust God completely, but I do not trust man's system.

Yes, trouble is very useful in turning people to pray for grace. We are told that when the tribulation comes the Lord will meet the enemy pound for pound and it will be an age of miracles.

We are all in need of grace, for some it takes more trouble than for others.

Guys, the answer is given by example in Genesis and other books.
1. Get saved.
When God Almighty is your Father, He provides for His own. I'd rather be a believer than a billionaire. We are wealthier than Gates, Trump, Swab, Musk, etc.
Why?
They can't take it with them. Their riches will be meaningless to them in a few years. Ask the rich man, Abraham or Lazerus. They'll tell you what the rich man begged for....just a little water. How sad.

2. Joseph knew that a famine was coming, so he prepared Egypt. We don't know when, but the devil is attempting to bring the world into a dictatorship. Henry Kissinger, Swab, Bill Gates, Yuval Noah Harari tell the world what evil they plan to carry out. The world has no wisdom or insight from God.

Men must learn skills like gardening, hunting, fishing and how to safely identify wild edible plants. Self defense is a key to retaining what you have. If you have property out of town, this helps tremendously. Room to plant fruit and perennials always helps. Nothing like fresh fruits and venison. Get wisdom and above all understanding.

Women likewise can learn the skills that I mentioned, but you should also pray for a good man who is a mature believer. Most are not, but put on a good facade. You would not want to hear what many men say behind their wives and girlfriends backs about other women. Decent men and women are rarer than a 4 carrot diamond. You need the Lord's help to be the kind of woman that attracts a like man. He should be a good protector. We are living in "perilous times." He is God's protector of the family.
God wants you to marry, bear children and keep house. He wants you to serve Him and be the best helper to your husband possible. With videos on long term storage of food, gardening and such, there's much you can do to become independent from the state, the system and dependant upon the blessings from God. I have rough drafts of books on the answers to prayer and amazing ways that He blesses. I never finish because He continues to give new material to add chapters! He can do this for all of us, after all, He owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

We have the best Father and He wants our love and for one another.

To your Health and Happiness

I've actually been feeling the opposite. This is no judgment on you, but for me, it seems as if running out and buying all this stuff is not trusting in God to meet my needs. Maybe I'm wrong.

Each person should do as they feel is right. I don't think is a right or wrong issue. I do think we rely too much now on gov't and modern convenience than our grandparents did. And I think we should get back to that.

I think it's completely Biblical to store food and supplies in preparation for coming disasters.
NOT hoarding, because everyone has time NOW to prepare.

Joseph would be the biggest example of that.

Plus, giving to the needy from some of those stores could be an incredible opportunity to spread the Gospel.

Noah stocked the ark for his family and the animals.
Israel gathered enough manna on the sixth day for the seventh.
Israel prepared for the seventh year when nothing was to be planted or harvested.
Those who did not prepare went without.
God has always instructed His people to prepare.
If God is providing you with the means and opportunity to prepare, that is His provision.
Assuming He's giving the warning and that this is not fear-mongering from the enemy.

I tend to like the second half of your point. That is true.

But... maybe this should be done whether or not a (potential) food shortage is on the way?

If Putin shoots a nuke at Toronto, it might stray and explode over my head and I'll be instantly vaporized and sent to the New Jerusalem, where there'll be no more arguing!

The only way Putin would send a Nuke to Canada is if he missed the USA.

As a disabled person, I have no choice.

Yep disabled myself and so I can relate. Got our 200 dollar light bill the other day and our 211 dollar water bill today. We cant grow a big garden like when I was younger and more healthy but we still have to try or we don't get to eat. In Texas drought, moderate drought, exceptional drought everywhere you look https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?TX The 211 dollar water bill is the "punishment bill" from the water company because we tried to water the little garden (1,500 square foot) and keep it alive. Anyway 211 + 200 then the gas bill, car insurance ect. means no doctors visit again this month or no food to eat because it's all coming out of that 1,100.00 dollar disability check. lol, it's almost comical to follow along with the thread and read the things people say about preparing for a shortage,,,and then again it's kind of spooky because well they've not gotten here yet.

I disagree, why would they need to burn up 110 food processing plants in the US if they controlled them?

The five richest counties in the US are in the DC area. They take the $5 trillion spending bills and filter out money for these people. OK, but what about the thousands of other counties? These people are outnumbered 1,000 to 1.

Blackrock and Vanguard own all the food processing companies. OK. But the food is grown and raised by tens of thousands of farmers that are doing a job that these people in DC boardrooms never, ever will.

Why do you think they want self driving trucks, they know they'll never drive a truck. OK, will they ever work as a mechanic? Can you imagine how much has to still be done to replace all truck drivers, all mechanics, all miners, all the various functions that go into keeping these trucks running?

Their achilles heel is that they think owning a piece of paper in NYC saying you own the stock of some company means you can control all the people like they are worker bees. They are incapable of doing any of the jobs they want to replace with robots and they are incapable of replacing all the jobs with robots at once.

In the old days most everyone grew gardens but the usa's waters became more and more polluted, they began telling people they couldn't use their water wells anymore and set up water depts. and so now in 2022 well...

In post #556 I mentioned the "punishment bill" which is the rate we pay if you go over X amount of gallons a month trying to water a garden or your lawn. So they've already got us because they took gardening at home out of the equation which takes away our ability to raise food(gardens, livestock ect.) It's really simple math I tried to water a 1500 square foot garden last month and after a 211 dollar h20 bill it's still dying. In the math it takes about 3 acres of good arable land to grow enough food for one person so how much to water 3 acres 3 or 4 thousand dollars? So it's not real for anyone to think that when that day comes and everyone is faced with farming for a living they will be able to do it.

The thread is "the shortage are you preparing?" and in all truth the ones who really are are the ones who already were. In the story of Joseph in Egypt there were 7 good years followed by 7 bad years. It's still the same story today as then in that those who canned the things they grew across the last 7 years have food to eat and those who didn't do not. Now my garden is drying up the same as everyone's but I'm no longer going to water this one. The farms are in a drought or not growing for one reason or another https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/12/politics/us-farmers-drought-food-prices-inflation/index.html and their putting restriction devices on water hogs already https://www.latimes.com/environment...device-stops-water-hogs-in-their-soggy-tracks ...So it's a done deal because they had everyone talk about solar panels and things to buy like Rambo and led them away from the very one thing that makes the food supply tick,,,,,water and how to irrigate enough land to live on.
