Sound of Freedom Updates | AMC Boycott | Forgetting the Message | International Update
Many people say that just going to see the movie doesn't do anything, I disagree. The movie has made $85 million so I assume that means at least 6 million people have seen it. You don't need all six million to give money to a charity or get involved with some group to fight child trafficking. That would be great, but even if 1% do that is 60,000 people. There are other benefits as well.
For example, this movie has been very profitable to the theaters that ran it and that should encourage them to play more of these small budget films from studios other than the big boys. Breaking the Monopoly of Disney and Warner Brothers is in itself a plus.
Second, if 15 million Americans go to see this film that is enough to swing the presidential election. It is enough to make this a major political issue in this upcoming election. That would be another big plus.
Third, if Angel Studios can make a lot from this film it will bankroll the next films in the series. They have already said this is only the first in a series of films they have planned on this topic.
Fourth, the success in the US becomes a springboard for overseas markets and online streaming. The US represents 5% of the world's population. I would think that countries that are victims of this crime would be as motivated if not more motivated to do something. If 6,000 Americans get involved who knows you might also get another 6,000 people from other countries.
There are 120 million girls worldwide who are victims, one would think that between them and their families you would get another 10 million viewers of this movie.
One thing the movie can do, not only this one but future ones, is to provide links to organizations where you can help. The movie shows how one cartel member repenting for his actions can have a big impact, suppose this movie causes ten more to repent?
