Title: San Francisco and the golden toilet

(Verse 1) Let me tell you the story of a toilet grand It's worth 1.4 million in the San Fran land It's supposed to solve the homeless plight But it's hard to see how that could be right

(Chorus) Will they ever let the homeless be free Or just build golden thrones for them to see With red tape and bureaucracy abound The homeless still sleep on the ground

(Verse 2) The city council said it's a must A toilet for the homeless, in gold we trust But the cost is high, and the need is great A roof over their head, they patiently wait

(Chorus) Will they ever let the homeless be free Or just build golden thrones for them to see With red tape and bureaucracy abound The homeless still sleep on the ground

(Bridge) So let's call for change, let's make a stand No more golden toilets in this land Let's build homes and provide some care For the homeless people everywhere

(Chorus) Will they ever let the homeless be free Or just build golden thrones for them to see With red tape and bureaucracy abound The homeless still sleep on the ground.

Unless you want a severe case of lead poisoning, I suggest you stick to your northern or western area.

Chicago is very appreciative of looters (oops, I mean people getting reparations), so is San Francisco, and NYC and Washington DC are also understanding that it really isn't a crime if you vote Democrat.

It's been the "End times for the last 2000 years.

We're a day closer to the ultimate consummation of the age, than we were yesterday.
The "Date setters" are churning out their foolishness with increasing enthusiasm. Personally I'll stick with my favorite: "88 REASONS THE RAPTURE WILL HAPPEN IN 1988". It's a classic of eschatological fervor.

Actually, better stated as "last days", "last times", "last time"....

And technically, "end times" (as regards the DOTL) is more properly defined as "beginning times".

Act 2:17
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
2Ti 3:1
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
Heb 1:2
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Jas 5:3
Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
2Pe 3:3
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

1Pe 1:20
Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Jde 1:18
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
1Jo 2:18
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Pe 1:5
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

SO you don't know either.

It sure seems to me that we're in the very last days before the Rapture. I know not everyone here believes in a pre-trib Rapture of the Church, but in my view it's the only scenario the Bible supports.

The evil today is a peek into what it'll likely be like when the lawless one is in power.

Why do you think it's the only view that makes sense? Can you explain it? I don't want to argue, just curious why you say this.

Edgar Whisenant wrote the book, "88 REASONS THE RAPTURE WILL HAPPEN IN 1988". And it sold 4.5 million copies. The book made him a rich man.

When the predicted Rapture failed to occur, Whisenant followed up with later books with predictions for various dates in 1989, 1993, and 1994. These books did not sell in quantity. Whisenant continued to issue various Rapture predictions through 1997, but gathered little attention.

Of course, the Millerites also never admitted their error in their prediction of the end of the world in 1844, they called it the 'GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT' and their movement collapsed. But it's leaders started the Seventh Day Adventist Movement, continuing to preach that the end of the world will happen in their lifetime.

My personal favorite 'false prophet' is Hal Lindsey who wrote about the imminent end of the world in his best seller, "The Late Great Planet Earth". Like the other phoney prophets, he made lots of money and never admitted he was wrong. Unless he died recently, I think he has his own prophecy tv show and fools still listen to him. Go figure.

All of that was easily debunked by any competent Bible student.

It's easy for you to say that any competent Bible student could have debunked this false prophet, in hindsight. But that's not what happened.

In fact, Whisenant's predictions were taken seriously in some parts of the evangelical Christian community. As the great day approached, regular programming on the Christian Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) was interrupted to provide special instructions on preparing for the Rapture.

Not so. The error was effective only upon the Biblically illiterate or confused.
The wise, the elders, the serious student would not be so easily deceived.
And remember......not all were caught up in that net of error.

I think the issue is being biblically illiterate and the solution is not to spend less time studying the prophetic word in the bible but more time.
