He is quite right, the EU wasn't even known to us in the 1970's, it was sold to us as a trading agreement and was known simply by the term "the common market" but it has become a beast we could no longer control. T
The young who were the main "remainers" don't get it because they don't know anything different.

It's going to get very nasty... the EU will now back Spain over claims to British territory - Gibraltar. Actually, as with the Falklands dispute with Argentina and the Falklanders, as I see it, its not about what Spain wants or what Britain wants, it's about the Gibtaltarians want.

Suddenly in the EU, Britain is public enemy number 1!

With a bit of luck, we will be able to start buying boomang
shaped bananas again, wonky potatoes, curved cucumbers, and a dozen eggs!

I miss the days when we could actually eat untampered natural food!

These are just some of the mad laws the EU forced upon its member states!

REVEALED: The EU's top ten pointless decisions the UK can now get rid of | World | News | Express.co.uk

Dont even get me going about the ban on our old light bulbs, just before the ban came in, I
bought a whole load of them just for the stairs. The old style light bulbs come on instantly,
whereas the new ones take a while to warm up and reach their full brightness. Something
which is utterly useless for a 2 second trip up the stairs!

We still have our little stock, they last ages! :D
In my area we can still get the old light bulbs in little corner shops. I have a small stock which I hide from the EU Light Bulb Police

I don't especially affiliate myself with Nigel Farage but he makes me chuckle.

Here he is comparing the EU to the Mafia holding us to ransom.
The Italian minister took offence at the word Mafia. Lol
So Nigel changed it to gangster.

I think he got it right the first time!

I was just reading the news about it and I said to myself - I wonder if Miri did react to it on CC... and yes! She did :)

Actually, GB cannot expect to eat just honey from the EU without paying back. Its not any mafia, its a normal business.

And as German representative Weber said - GB cannot have better conditions in the relationships with the EU than the member countries.

Actually I would say we have had far from "just honey" to date. After Germany we have been the biggest contributor even though we are far from the 2nd biggest member state. I would say the EU has been like a leech to the UK, now we have had enough. We do not need German cars or French wine, we will go elsewhere. I believe we are BMWs 's biggest customer... its their loss.

Some quotations from the article (its in Czech so I will not post the link):

"Its not possible that GB will leave EUROPOL and still will have the information from the Schengen area."

"Its not possible that GB will participate in the Universities exchange programs without making donations to it."

it is fair enough that when we are no longer EU members we should not have EU privileges but it works both ways.

They are scared. They are afraid that if the UK makes a success of it, then other member
countries will want to leave and so they want to make it as difficult as possible.

The thing is the EU does not own the countries it represents, the EU was suppose to be a
cooperation of countries. It was never suppose to conquer and take them over. The EU is now
treating its member states as if they belong to it.

In short the EU has become too powerful. Germany especially wants to rule everyone.

Watch this space in the coming years. If the EU doesn't split up it will be a major
player in end times.

Have a look at this which shows how many MEPs each country has in the EU.
The larger the population the more MEPs they have. Guess who has the most.
Guess which country is pushing forward their own agenda, guess which
country wants a European Army with it in control of said army.

The UK was always considered to be the restraining hand of reason in the
EU. With that going, watch this space.

I agree that Germany is too strong and has no counterpart in the EU. But several other countries can create a coalition against its power. Its all a matter of diplomacy.

I am not sure if "you cannot have better conditions than the member countries" can be classifed as "they want to make it as difficult as possible", but its always a matter of perspective. For you, it can look this way...

What's the EU gonna do when GB doesn't pay the billions it's demanding? Have nasty German bill collectors call GB's govt?:p
